Music, colour, splendour, and pageantry are the hallmarks of the Edinburgh Military Tattoo, the world's best-loved military spectacle and one of the main attractions of the Edinburgh Festival. This video contains highlights from the 1987 Tattoo and amongst its spectacular international attractions features - a medley of Celtic splendours by the Massed Military Bands; a display of music and drill by H.M. Kongens Garde from Norway; a display of music and movement by the City of Wellington Pipe Band from New Zealand; a flamboyant Latin display by the Western United States Collegiate Band, and of course, rousing music from the famous Massed Pipes and Drums.

Having just been to see the 2023 Tattoo this truly shows what we missed! Wonderful drill, wonderful music! The Norway Guard performed here for around four times longer than this year, with more troops in 1987. Thank you for posting

Figured I'd comment and let you know, as a kid, about 1995 to 2000 about 3 to 8 years old, I'd watch this VHS tap OVER AND OVER, and I figured you should know how much fun I found the Western US band's performance.
