Alex is one of the best dancers,, he has unique style, fresh, slow, no sweat, who interprets sounds with rythm. Paradox is humble an talented. My respect for both of them.
I love the simplicity of Alex. His moves looking effortless while making his opponents look like they are dancing for their lives lol really adds to his style.
Hmmm def not unique. Seen his style endless of times. He's still good though. Got the charm just needs to brighten up a bit.
3rd round was super clean from Alex i enjoyed that

He also has some of the deepest knowledge of tracing and threading that I've seen. 100% a pioneer, so I'm not sure why you believe he's not innovative. Just look at his style 10 years ago vs now. Take a look at czcams.com/video/sZpnKBWhWA8/video.html if you wanna see how crazy his threading and tracing is, and czcams.com/video/VFRPvd6leGo/video.html is just a good example of how good unique his style is. Keep in mind these videos are two years old. Show me someone who dances even close to how he does in either clip.
Also for the record I like Alex and also believe he's very creative and original, so please don't make this a Paradox vs Alex thing.
@@garethreynolds557 I agree with most of what you say, thats what I meant by insane movement. Ive seen the compilation you linked. But to me creativity and originality is about how you use moves with music, not just inventing them. To me Meech and Alex are far more creative because they constantly invent new ways of using basic moves. Paradox has the best movement I've ever seen but eye candy gets old quick.

Paradox is constantly transitioning into different moves. Alex starts using a move and uses it in 6 different ways in succession, then uses another move and squeezes the hell out of it and so on. He's a master at that, specifically. But in my particular opinion, it's kinda boring, as elaborate and complex it is. I guess I wouldn't say the same if stamina was a crucial factor and I wanted to just outlast the rest of the competition in an event like this.

Alex could do the same dances in the 80’s and it wouldnt be out of place. He is really good, but it is the most classic “hip-hop” style dancing, even the way he turns his head to look at his opponent. It’s like something out of a movie.

Paradox went supercharged turbo beast mode during this event. I love what he did @ 2:18 to 2:21. He's smoother than hot butter & pure silk, and his dedication & commitment to his profession pays off. I admire his humility, professionalism & cordiality greatly. Congrats on the earned win here, champ Paradox, and the overall event! On another note, Alex & his movements look altogether different w/out his faux hair. Perhaps those strands make a difference in his performance & its outcome, although he brought the heat & the funk in 2nd round @ 2:45. This entire battle was simply amazing! Thanks for sharing, Summer Dance Forever.
Yes he would play off of his dreads swinging with the beat sometimes. They had an allure to him and if you notice his sunglasses would not stay on for a lot of the crazy movement he does when he goes into that mode

Whenever I see paradox I mostly focus on the opponents for 2 reasons-
1. Can't stop seeing him
2. What the opponent brought on the table
Great battle. I've never been a fan of Alex's style but he is very good at his craft. I especially like the start to R2 where he immediately takes back some momentum.
With that said, no one was beating Paradox in this battle.

For me, the first seconds were everything. Paradox was dancing, but Alex was just making moves.
You're sleeping on Alex that's why. He brings flow, footwork, style, isolation, tuting, lines and technicality out of this world. Easily one of the best hip hop dancers. Paradox is a legend but in this battle he only brought his same arsenal of moves and groovyness while Alex danced effortlessly each song accordingly.

2th round, ahh Alex started quite strong but the energy went down throughout the hole round.. I don’t know, maybe Paradox took it 🤔
3th round, well quite strange hip hop music (bit funky for a HIP HOP battle, but yeah, just a sidenote) was played here. I mean I don’t know what Alex did there in his round, looked very „one dimensional“, cause he repeated the move sequence with the foot and the arms for so long..
Paradox had a very conceptual round here (his kind of style) but he felt it maybe more if you watch it a little bit.. SOOO Paradox.
All in all you can give it to Paradox.

I dont think alex the cage factored in that his dreadlocks helped him keep his sunglasses in places when he went into that mode i believed his round was hindered once he realizes this and he had to fall back on his movement so his glasses won't fly off ruining the gimmick. Great round but something i noticed.

I am confused. Why did Paradox battle a judge?? Paradox is the better dancer.
It's the SDF format. 3 dancers each choose a judge to battle. The winners then go into the semi-finals where 2 of the winners battle while the 3rd winner gets to bring back somebody from one of the previous rounds. The winners of the semi-finals then meet in the finals.
John describes it this way "In this competition the judges aren't allowed to simply sit around. They have to battle and show what they're made of too"

Paradox dances with the technical moves, but the music isn’t enhancing his dance in anyway.

someone need to stop paradox ...he is entering his villain phase :D
Alex went hard in the 3rd round but it was a weak battle from him. Idk he's been in a weird place stylewise since 2020. His groove and foundation are better than ever but he completely lost that unpredictability factor especially when he goes low. His ground moves used to be original, now they're simplified and overdone. I mean he did this 3:23 sequence in like every event in last 2 years. Until 2020 when he went to the ground you never knew what he would do, now it's the same few sequences that feel less and less like freestyle each time I see them and more like old Zyko transitions, except less visually impressive
If we're talking GOATs thats the diff between him and icee to me. Icee had a style that he sticked to and mastered. But alex since like 2011 has been transitioning from one style to another. His 2011,2013,2015,2017,2019 and now 2022 battles are all different from each other. Different weaknesses, different strengths. I hope he eventually settles on one style and masters it because I feel like I've been watching him going from a genius round to a bad one since like 2013. He's still my favorite dancer, nobody in this scene has reached the highs that he has, except maybe meech and icee. It's just that he's never been consistent.
We all need an update / development in our style. And basically that's waht he is doing like if you see his last year's battle videos of SDF like 2019 he has been giving rounds like hell. And it gets updated.
So different music gives different feel to everybody and there's a different way of moving as an individual mind and body.
So as per our mind grows our style Aldo grows. And he can just interpret music in different different sense he has with music.

Anyone that thinks Alex was trying to win here I’d tripping lol. Alex is one of the most humble and respectful dancers in the game, he’s a judge at SDF this time and Paradox and Alex have been good friends for over a decade.
There’s no way Alex Is dancing to take Paradox’s first SDF win after he returned from a potentially career ending health issue.
Hope there’s guys are both competing in the same tourney against each other in the future.

Alex didn’t come close to paradox. He kills his momentum in his style 50% of the time and looks sloppy next to paradox. Almost 0 creativity points to Alex. He did well musically and flow but all his moves are old school and don’t have anywhere near the same difficulty nor uniqueness as parodox’s sets. Jesus. And he thought he won. Alex is def good or was good for his time. But anyone would’ve been able to see paradox won by a blowout.
