Bro, in the instruction manual it is written that to avoid dripping it is recommended to install a non return valve at a distance of at least 40 feet away from the inlet of the Water heater. ....Is it really required? Or we can keep it open as that of in your video. Any issues due to this?

Dont buy this friends,I have no idea about the product but the installation service is very very bad. In cities like Mumbai, even after last 15 days of follow-up, installation is still not done. And there is A O Smith's rule that if I have done the installation by someone else I will not get the warranty. Very bad experience... if possible consider other options.
Yes, I have also the same experience. After making many calls and complaints , my product installation done after 14 days from the delivery. And from day 1 it's not working. The technician is saying that I'll get it repaired after the company supplies parts.
