had to cut the beginning do the song winter being copywritted .reposting this because it was taken down reposting also for better quality tori amos london interview 1992 part 1 of 3
That's not crazy, that's passion. And most of us don't know how to label it, when they see real passion. This lady, I think Mozart would have had such a crush.
I love hearing the music change as she's speaking...kind of like she's in a movie and the music will become perfect background to what she's talking about or what topic they come to. So wonderful.
I love how when she goes to the piano shop, the guy says, "Down the stairs and to the left" and Tori goes to the right, and is like, "Which way do we go?"
OmG this has got to be the best interview ever! Such a genius and so underrated. But I’m glad cuz I don’t want her to be mainstream. I’d rather remain in her cult following.
She was mainstream in the 90's. Tne rise of the Seattle sound from bands like Pearl Jam and Nirvan led to the Grunge and "alternative music" genre from bands like Smashing Pumpkins, Sonic Youth and the female singer/songwriter/artist like Bjork, PJ Harvey, and Tori Amos. You'd frequently hear their singles played on alternative rock radio and crossover to pop radio every now and then. For Tori I remember hearing "Crucify", ""Cornflake Girl", and "Caught a Lite Sneeze" often on the radio. Even with the radio play popularity people either really liked her or really disliked her. You are right in saying that she wasn't for everybody and that it's good because it kind of felt like yay! more for us
@@thomasmathis2326 and now it's become 'grungier' then any of them would stand to imagine....and of course lower IQ if you will.....it's strange in a stupid-o kind of wehh....
Wow. That's all the characteristics I need in a great musician. Technique, improvisation, knowledge and - most important of all - soul. People who make music without soul are craftsmen, nothing more.
I get what she meant once when she said she always thought that it was unfair that rockstarguitarr can play their instrument in that sexy and rough way, that whats she's doing in a way
She says she'd murder someone for destroying a piano, but she burned a piano for a picture in Boys for Pele. I'd love to hear the explanation behind that. :) Thanks for posting!!!
i know how she feels when it comes to the love of the piano. destroying a piano is a sin. ie throwing them out whatever. im about to update to a better piano and having to say goodbye to my sweet 16 piano that ive had for almost 15 years.. its gonna make me cry harder than just about anything, but she will be going to a good home to a person who is just starting out like i was many years ago.
I wish I could see a documentary of her entire life. She is one odd woman but it's part of her genius, obviously. It freaks me out to see a person who is able to channel themselves through an instrument so naturally.
Tori is brilliant. How could you not fall in love with this woman and her aura just bursting with electricity? Her mind and wit are just so intoxicating, what a lovely woman💚🌹.
Tori saying she’d murder if she saw someone destroy a piano… But setting harpsichords on fire for Pele…no biggie! 😂😂😂😂 I adore Mother Myra Ellen ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I think it's so beautiful how she tells the story about that black guy and plays piano music with it that seems to fit in perfectly. It's so dreamy. I love it.
I absolutely totally DITTO this comment. I can't tell you how many times I have watched it. Frigen AMAZING. GOD I LOVE HER MORE THAN I COULD EVER EXPLAIN!
tori is now my new idol. i'm sure many fellow musicians feel this way as well, but music is our friend when no one else is there. it doesn't discriminate, it'll always be there for you. you can convey your emotion into one piece and sometimes a piano or any instrument is the only one that listens. i never really thought that there was anyone else in the world who felt this relationship with music, but seeing how tori loves her piano maybe more than people..i love her for that
Whether Tori is on something or not Hehe, shes a creative minded person, and they can be rather quirky sometimes! I love her tho, weirdness and all. Its what makes her who she is. Thanks for posting!
So absolutely wonderfull ..From Marry Poppins to...Frank Zappa..Jezro Tull Bohemian Rapsodii. To. Bjoerk and Kate Bush . Stravinsky Chopin Geniouse ❤🩷❤Tori got the whole pallet ..it's ..what impressing about her ..a Scala un comparable .
I felt a bit confused, when she was asked about that her first piano music experience and she sang "holy holy", because those words evoked me the lyrics of "me and a gun". However, i love how eccentric and funny she is
I am quite sure she was. I think her statement was made out of an unusually strong passion for her music. If you listen to the way she talks about the pianos, and personifies them, you can tell that she has an amazing relationship with an object that allows her to communicate with the world in a way that few are able. She is able to express the vast array of emotions through an instrument that has become part of her very existence. It is NOT to be threatened by anyone.
That's not crazy, that's passion. And most of us don't know how to label it, when they see real passion. This lady, I think Mozart would have had such a crush.
She started before Mozart!
@@dominicjames8559 aaawwwwww
Tori's on the Autism Spectrum. Explains everything.
7:57
can you imagine, your shopping for pianos, then in comes Tori Amos?
I’d leave lol I’d quit playing
Tori a tiny window into a dimension of pure creativity. She's not crazy, a part of her psyche is just in another dimension.
I just adore her. An incredibly intelligent person. Bless her heart.
Intelligent in a mad sort of way 😂😂
I love hearing the music change as she's speaking...kind of like she's in a movie and the music will become perfect background to what she's talking about or what topic they come to. So wonderful.
She is so alive and on fire such vigor for life what passion and empowerment.
and she's/was available on british tv for 900 bucks an ounce
HOLY COW she's a mad genius.
Me too. Once a week and it still amazes me.
She is absolutely unique as an artist and her passion is unmatched. Just watching her warms my heart.
I love how when she goes to the piano shop, the guy says, "Down the stairs and to the left" and Tori goes to the right, and is like, "Which way do we go?"
Nono she was peeking at the piano's there she was lead away from.
Thank goodness for geniuses like Tori
I love how the piano goes with the story. Every story.

and whores

it's fascinating how she feels the piano inside her soul when she talks about something, and how the piano beautifully fits her feelings
Well, I wasn't expecting that quite uncomfortable cliffhanger.
I think shes high 😃 but all she says is he talks about the civil rights movenent and she asca 6yo thought he was her prince 😇
*she as a 6yo. Sorry!
How i wish i had a friend like a young Tori Amos
She is incredible !
She does lose herself. That is so amazing to watch !
Unreal......
How amazing were so lucky that we get to see this just a little clip but so fortunate so amazing
Instruments should give ya the same butterflies as loving a person
I don't think she's ever been as beautiful as she is here. Just amazing.
She says she'd murder someone for destroying a piano, but she burned a piano for a picture in Boys for Pele. I'd love to hear the explanation behind that. :) Thanks for posting!!!
She's maybe a contradict.

I've loved her music from the onset but after this video, I love her random thoughts all the more. Cheers

"C'mon I'm Very.............Otherwordly"
YES O.O
Everything about this is magical, rich, amazing. When she describes the black guy's look... I mean... what a BEAUTY.
I'm in love with her
Oh.. Remember watching this thing when it aired! Thanks for putting this up here!
Gosh darn, i love her eccentric genius xo thanx for posting this.
"I'm very otherworldly" I fucking love you miss Amos.

She is so awesome! Definately an eccentric character!
So sure she was on something... but I still love seeing her play while telling a story. Amazing.
i can't get enough from this video!

Luna lovegood vibes.
I have tried for years to describe Tori. The best I can come up with is 'gifted'. I thank her for sharing her gift with us.
Incredible post !
I love you, Tori!!!❤
I love the way she thinks
I think it's so beautiful how she tells the story about that black guy and plays piano music with it that seems to fit in perfectly. It's so dreamy. I love it.
Especially when she stands while playing and has an obvious orgasm. I totally get that passion.
so brilliant

thank you! ^^
long live the weird people!!!! we are awesome!!!
today's female Beethoven, virtuoso, genius!
She's absolutely awsome!!!!!
My favorite interview of tori !
"most pianos will tell you that" LOL love it
"Most pianists will tell you that"
"Lets go upstairs and play those!"
she looks happy.
She's such a rockstar 🤩🤩
I absolutely totally DITTO this comment. I can't tell you how many times I have watched it. Frigen AMAZING. GOD I LOVE HER MORE THAN I COULD EVER EXPLAIN!

thanks!
Tori's musical genius innately manifests from the core of her magical brain !
tori piano = awesomeness

A Shnabubula video brought me here! My piano fantasy is now complete.
Ona jest absolutnie zajebista ) !
she's interesting
she is brilliant
Tori in her absolute Prime..
When the interviewer doesn't think she can play Mozart at 5:50 and Amos makes him speechless...😆
She really is the embodiment of Delirium of The Endless.
by far the truest and best statement she makes in the video
She's crazy, but in a good way.
this video makes me laugh with her, she seems so comfortable and happy.
the first movement from C-major sonata, KV 545! ;-)
“Mmmmm just right!”
tori amos rocks.
I felt a bit confused, when she was asked about that her first piano music experience and she sang "holy holy", because those words evoked me the lyrics of "me and a gun".
However, i love how eccentric and funny she is
sounds like you were confused to say you were confused
good old days
Don't think she'd be on something, some people just seem like they are cuz they're so different I think
That improvisation at 0:09 KILLS me every time. I'd give my right pinkie to have a view right above her hands.
Love this woman 2 bits : D , She is gifted & some day i would love to work alongside her ie : have her write me a song : )
"If I saw somebody destroying a piano I'd f****in murder them. Wouldn't think twice..."
I love this!!!
5:16
❤
IMHO, of course.
hahahaha i love Tori but i never thought she could scare me. was waiting the whole time for her to lose it and start laughing uncontrolably, lol.
I love my siblings.
agreed
wtfff? Why did she do that? I loved this vid with the intro!
You give Oklahoma some kick.
@shirleywoodsarah I know she's said Robert Plant and Kate Bush were very big influences.
shes just fucking great! here I thought i was weird about pianos!
Where are the other parts of this? :P
If an uncut version of this tape exists somewhere, it'd be like the Ark of the fucking Covenant
@velouriesa This is exactly how I feel every time I see this.
@slivertoe It was kind of symbolic. In Boys, she was destroying a part of herself.
I am quite sure she was.
I think her statement was made out of an unusually strong passion for her music. It could also be a sign of mental health problems association of live in inanimate objects.
Bu karıya hastayım :)
Şaka bi yana gelse de çalsa la istanbula.
i love tori - i wonder what she's on though?
8:00 sounds like Lady In Blue!!
Beulah Land @ 4:16!I know it's only a second, but still....
Low fat..
