My soul just identifies with old music. Miles, Herbie etc. Their music just takes me someplace else. We need to preserve these kind of artist forever.
Me too man I really feel like I don't belong in this era.
I bet you would like Milt Jackson.
@@thomaswalton9354 well thank jah u can take a break in that chill time!😎😄
Herbie's still making new music!
What a legacy. What a legend!
Agree 🇨🇵
This is nice music to listen to when solving math problems. It makes me feel like a detective but for math.
haha so cute, you make me laugh , sherlock holmes of Maths
Agree. Whenever I do all my math problems in life I sit and lsiten to this while I am doing them.
"AHA! I see what you did there Mr.Maths and I shall have you brought in on charges!!"
😆
LA Noire hehe
Mingus on bass. He had a record company in the early mid 1950’s. This has to be from that label. Debut Records. That record has to be a collector’s item.
Mingus and Miles and rare vibraphone with Miles...fantastic! Thanks SO MUCH for posting this! Balm to the soul...
this is why miles rules man
I had no idea this album existed. Elvin, Mingus, and Miles all in one band. Incredible.
I know Rigjht! What a rare gem!!
Miles Davis was a music genius! I could listen to him for hours 💝.
I wish he never threw cicley Tyson down the stairs.

True
We are so fortunate to be able to access music like this at the touch of a button.
Many Thanks to Don Kaart!
subdued by elitism
So true, and may I second your comment! :-)
Can you amplify that, please!!!
for real
You are absolutely right on that. But I would much rather prefer to be in the time where you would have to go to clubs or some location to hear this music, when the music was appreciated more by the community.
Old school jazz has always been one of my favorite music styles. It should be more looked upon. Maybe more people will appreciate to it one day.
High school 1960 this album in particular was one of my drugs of choice. Also "Individualism of Gil Evans" - Las Vegas Tango. The album Kind of Blue of course along with his other moody pieces like Flemenco Sketches, Porgy & Bess, etc. This was an era of musical creativity that has never been matched & Miles was the critical element in it.
Also . . . this record was actually pressed with blue vinyl! The music together with the blue vinyl record and some Jack Daniels on ice in a quiet night is imprinted on my brain all these years later. That vibraphone really sets the tone.
Miles' finest album, short but a wonderful choice of compositions. Miles' choice of notes here stands out. I'm sure Mingus had a big hand in the choice of musicians here; it was HIS label!
GeoCppens -
your quite right-it's on Debut, the Musicians label set up by MIngus with Max Roach. There's a great Debut box-set
My favorite Miles Davis album!
Nieztsche was right when he said that without music life is not possible.
It's certainly possible for deaf people.
+Rodrigo Paris "Ohne Musik wäre das Leben ein Irrtum." Not *impossible* but a "mistake."
@@hetmanjz Well that makes much more sense!
@@christopherthomas7253 deaf people. can feel music, so its real to them
@@exxumma That is certainly true, but it's also not what the (mis-) quote said.
Movie to this album would be like i dont know The best almost 27 minutes of a video about man or a woman relaxing and thinking about life in peace with hope and self satisfaction! For sure it is a music for richmen but not only for those who havethe money. This is the anthem of joy.Everyone of us is a richmen when he will find something that makes him happy. For me something like this will be weed, books, movies and music!Thank You Miles and the boys for all the help!
If it takes "weed" for you to appreciate this...you've got a problem.
I like how you said everyone is a rich man when they find something they love. Who on earth couldn't agree with this truth must listen to miles and then they might get it.
This is some really rare great Music. It takes patience to listen to the stuff but it’s worth it. It’s classic American jazz by the greatest players of a bygone era. I will never forget.
It takes patience to listen to this? That makes it seem too much like studying man haha, I don't feel like it takes any more patience to listen to this than any other kind of music, supposing this is the kind of stuff you're into listening to.
@@mcguzzetti Agreed...when I was younger I remember that Bitches Brew was the kind of shit that I didn't like so much because I didn't understand so well, to be honest even nowadays I don't think I do haha, but I like it more...but this is ok...
👍 🎶🎸🌈 👂 🔥 🎹🎹 🥁 amazing record 😎 MILES DAVIS 🎺 RIP never forgotten!
Happy Birthday Miles! 5/26/26
Miles Davis was my cat’s favourite Jazz musician. We used to chill out to Blue in Green and Flamenco Sketches together. Both puss and me were star-shaped on the couch ‘til the wife came in to laugh at us. Well, we did look funny 😂
Such a hip cat
well, he was a cool cat - Miles that is.
My cat enjoys it too. She like sketches of spain.
LOL cool cat! ;)
Coincidentally, I named a cat I had with my ex "Miles Davis." The girl cat we had was called "Mona Lisa" so I wanted a cool cat name and I thought "jazz cat" so naturally, Miles Davis came to mind. Mona and Miles. Cool cats.
Miles Davis is one of my favorites to listen since his music is peaceful and calm. We need peaceful thoughts at a time of uncertainty.
Thanks so much for posting.
Always new! Thank you Miles and Mingus et al.
Love this particular configuration of musicians. A winning combination for sure. The moody, introspective side of Miles. I get that Miles was constantly moving and evolving, but these guys could have easily recorded 10 more albums together!
Agree 🇨🇵
HAPPY TO FOUND THIS ALBUM ON ORIGINAL VINYL (1955) USA Pressing 👌
So underrated but brilliant LP
... ¡¡¡ GRACIAS INFINITAS !!! ...
Oh Miles You and this ensemble is wonderful. Let the music play on and on and on and on..............
Been a Miles fan forever (Kind of Blue was first vinyl LP I ever purchased) but did not know this great album until finding it here. Thanks so much for posting.
"Nature Boy" rendition by Miles...I'm hooked.

Muchas Gracias por compartir estas grabaciones históricas. Reunión de genios de la música Jazz.
I am currently in an online class, and our teacher is sharing his screen, but hasn't noticed that he has his mic off. And we are all trying to tell him somehow, chat, hands up, etc. but he just doesn't notice, and the class just goes on, mute. Casuallly I had this music at the background and it's actually pretty hilarious
we had a class like that when the teacher had muted all of us and we were not allowed to unmute or write in chat so the whole class we were just sitting in silence while the teacher solved math problems
All is vanity!
What a rithmsection too, one of the finest music I ever heard...Thx a lot!
Super !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After watching the July 4th fireworks on the FDR expressway in NYC back in the '90s A guy with a boom box was playing "There's no You" at full volume as we walked back down to street level. My first hearing, and a great way to end a beautiful evening.
Wow, only in New York...
I the beginning of Alone together, its sounds to me like stray, drunken souls, tottering orbiting around the curb whilst following it along with the spirit of the tune. Each with their own viewpoint\feeling.
For some reason Miles Davis is extremely hard to turn off. Like literally!
Timeless classic ... hearing the dreams come truest in mystical visionary sounds ... absolutely incredible ... thanks for sharing
The dark lonely drizzle of Miles Davis's trumpet
Miles and Mingus ... such beauty! And cheers as well to the rest of the band ....
Favriote album
Watching from Ireland
brotha miles davis..the goat
~will be listening to this tonight in respect of my brother the saxophonist
'Nature Boy' sounds even better with some rain in the background...
Miles, Mingus and Elvin. Gawtdayum!
I hadn't heard this before. Glad to expand my vocabulary today.
Oh Miles, how you captivate my heart and soul
There's the most subtle groove in the brushes that teddy catches onto at the start and oh ma lawd das good
hell yeah
Oh yeah
Este disco me era totalmente desconocido. ¡Es una maravilla!
Miles defined the sense of fine-tuned aesthethics of the 21st century
Just can’t stop when i start
Esse tema é sensacional!
Me apaixonei qdo do filme Mullan(?) Rouge! Imperdível e inesquecível.
Miles Davis with a band of legends on this recording &
Chet Baker in his own way are such tasteful & restrained players
This is what I listen to when I was staying up all night studying in college
I miss cool album covers like this one
I found my soul when I touched Miles's soul...
C'est toujours un pur bonheur d'écouter ce son Miles. Merci mon grand....
Never heard this one before. So moody and whacked out with the vibes - matches my mood right now
When the money came the tune changed. But, before that happened these recordings are sheer treasure.
Cindi Lauper.. " money changes everything ".........
Sublime.

He gotst the spirit of jazz baby!
I'm just so depressed now. I feel sad inside after listening to this. My whole world turned blue.

Kind of blue is over there. :)
Miles Davis es un genio en el jazz, es un gigante en el jazz
Classic Miles 👍 thank you 🎹
Großartig!
Thank you, i never heard of this album, it seems wonderful!
Primera vez que escucho este disco. Me encanta
Thank you for posting this ... like many people I had heard of Miles but never really checked him out till now... wow what have I been missing
oooh never heard that one before what a way to start a day
Currently completing my last edits on my dissertation listening to Miles. He wouldn't have it any other way.
This does sound like "listening at 2 am while you're editing your thesis music eating cold pizza and sipping tea..." don't it??!!!
This was recorded in the living room of van gelders parents house. He changed to his new studio in 1959
Great fact, thanks!
thanks i didnt remember that
Great info! I see Van Gelder studios on so many albums ive been listening to these days, that guy was truly legendary! Incredible sound quality stands up over time. I really like the trilling, then winding walks Mr MIngus does in his solo here, always playing with purpose. The lead back into Miles' trumpet at it's conclusion is the icing on the cake! (4:47). The skill and confidence he must have had to dive up front on a session of legends, a giant among giants.
whoa. i just had youtube on auto play and was doing stuff around the house and all sudden this comes on and I literally had to stop what I was doing to listen lol This is great I've only really ever listened to Miles' fusion stuff from the 70s not this kinda stuff (and WOW at the line up of musicians on this album!.. I just looked at the credits lol)
Same here!
this guy really likes the color blue
Thank you! I was in a Miles mood today.
My Sunday morning music

Pure gem. Thanks
Thank you for posting great music. Miles is it.
Go wherever whenever you want in this dream.
Nature Boy was an amazing tune to start with and such excellent grist for the Miles Davis mill.
Wonderful music (and he's got ELVIN JONES on drums!😀)
And CHARLES MINGUS on bass my dude.
Very nice. I am very grateful for this music Don Kaart.
As always, thanks for posting and sharing your treasure. You're an inspiration and a great educator
