  • In the East Khasi Hills District of the state of Meghalaya, a small hamlet called Nongtraw still lives off its traditional crops. Krai, Jali, Jarain and Jakhria to name a few still form a part of their daily diet. While most of Meghalaya has forgotten these crops, the people of Nongtraw still cultivate them and honour these crops with stories and traditional couplets…
