I made a black box so the only light that will reveal detail on the coin is a small led light inside the box and there isnt any odd color or shapes reflecting off the coin. This way the coins maintain their true colors and there won't be any other shapes and colors reflecting onto the coin, distracting and obstructing the coins true shape and design. If you choose to try the mini dark room/black box studio approach, you're welcome!
thanks for the help @blueridgesilverhound! man, i have been working so damn hard trying to perfect my coin shots.. i think they are getting better, but i still have room for a lot... A LOT of improvement haha. thanks buddy!
You take a long time and do not rush in presenting your information and you're repetitive. It's irksome however it's also important because you are educating a wide range of various people who are looking to you for quality information...kudos
You have an email from me and are currently waiting for a few clearer pictures back. And I’m just now seeing this video. I have an iPhone X and I’m working on taking photos with. I think you also have a video that helps people know more about setting up their eBay store I will be watching. I love the information and soak it all in as much as possible. I’ve been watching for a year now and my coin “collection” had only gotten smaller since, and that’s because I’ve learned what to look for and have tossed a lot of my coins back into rolls and put in my spending pile. In the beginning I was saving every coin and taking over two minutes to inspect coins while searching through change. This channel has helped debunk a lot of my rookie traits that held me back from really understanding this hobby.
I am a new cell phone owner and I was never aware of the editing features. As soon as I started using the editor, Samsung downloaded an update. Thanks very much for the lesson.
I have a degree in photography but I picked up some good pointers just now from you. I was defusing the light Source but bouncing it back from there I will use, you know when you keep an open mind you can learn Thanks
He said “what I like to call diffused light.” Funny enough that’s what us professional shooters call it too! Me thinks you’re a lot more smarter than you want to let on there sir! (That’s a compliment) You do an excellent job here on everything you address. I love most, how you use the KISS principle. Keep It Simple Stupid. You didn’t try to go too far in depth or out in the weeds with useless info. Just enough to give someone the right info to do the job, or enough info they can search somewhere with the right terms to get a better explanation. Seriously, great job! Excellent video.
Hey Shaun, I'm a healthcare practicianer and you shouldn't be having shortness of breath basically doing nothing. One of the first signs of a pending heart incident is shortness of breath. Please see a Cardiologist and get checked out. Don't be in denial like all us guys are good at.
@@sheilalart5837 This is true Sheila, but he also indicated and kind of wrote it off as being out of shape or something similar to that. Just a concerned observation. He wasn't really exerting himself. I speak from occupational and personal experience. My heart events at 43 and 45 were preceded by shortness of breath that I noticed but ignored. Shortness of breath is one of the top symptoms.
John Sharp ok, you have more experience than me, I do have little degree and few years in the medical field. I do want to go back to get bachelor as a Clinical Scientist!
okay this is Fonda gayden and I'm back from business today I'm trying to put my 1965 quarters right now I'm looking at a video on how to send photos of the coins is kind of late so I still have my quarters I have seven of them I want to take photos and send them to you as soon as possible .
Thanks Shaun...great video !!! Very informative and useful for newbs of coin collecting. Been a sub of yours for a few years and think you have done good work in making and improving your vids. It's nice to see you in your vids now because I know you just kinda grow on people and they like to see your smiling face...
Good morning Shaun! BEER BUDGET!!! I AM SO BROKE I CAN'T EVEN PAY ATTENTION! LOL. GREAT VIDEO MY FRIEND! EXCELLENT JOB AND ADVICE ON THE PHOTOGRAPHY. THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOU HAVE A GREAT DAY. P.S. I LOVED THE DOG ON THE FLOAT ADVERTISEMENT. THAT ROCKED.I💕
On this computer screen, the Morgan photo looks 'not real' in the sense that there are no bag marks anywhere. Is this an MS68, or are the marks hidden by the lighting?
Thank you for these awesome tips, BlueRidge! You are awesome for sharing tips, and thanks as always for all your info. Very much appreciated to this noob especially. :) Delena
Needing help on your 2 peace penny top is off and then the other piece was sent to the community but I have it but no 1 is honering it so hope and and soon I will b waiting on a response and thank u
most ppl know how to take a photo but they want to hide something on the coin so they intentionally blur or blind the bad spot or conceal that the coin is not what they say it is
It's been a slice. I haven't heard that in a long time, except when I say it. haha!! Interesting video I have a very old Samsung s4 and I'm guessing I will have it for sometime to come. Thanks again. :-)
Your holding the phone is going to amount to many out of focus shots, because of your hand shaking. I was hoping to see how you set the camera on something to take consistently clear, good photos. Also, when you go in to the settings and start manipulating how the coin looks, you are making it less and less accurate to the actual coin. This is something that can be misleading on eBay. Thanks for your video
The reason why he's making this video not only to get views but so these guys will have a better chance of taking advantage of someone who doesn't know what they have that's the main purpose for this there's always talk about it guys finding error coins on eBay that are worth a lot of money so take better pictures they say so we can take advantage of you
I haven't got any contact with anybody I made a mistake and got in contact with the auction something that they want I wasn't aware that it was to buy coins on my into buying coins I'm a beginner sup coin collector and I'm just collecting all my coins and looking at your videos and one help on how to go about showing my coins and showing you what I have to take pictures of them so I can send them I haven't talked to anybody else I did tap into auction because I thought you are some of my friends just let me wrong and this is my first time and trying to do something for myself I'm out with new organization no company.
Five minutes in and dude still hasn't said anything worthwhile. Totally in love with his own voice. Protip: show some pictures first so we can decide whether your rambling is worth slogging through.

No need to crop if you use the square feature ! A circle fits nicely in a square.

When I photograph coins I rest the camera on 2 cat food cans stacked 2 high.
Many thanks - very helpful - I'm on a beer budget too; so gonna go and clean my lense and have a beer!
some people prop their phone on the top of a soup can to hold it steady when taking coin photos.
Welcome connection coin
Thank you.

The 1st known photos were taken by Joseph Niepce in 1826,using heliography, which was Bitumen of Judea on glass or metal
Great 👍
The more you zoom, the more the quality deteriorates. I use 4,8,10,15 and 20x loupe lens to utilize the full quality potential of the default camera.
Thanks for the tips, I will definitely try to use them when showing my coins!!
Thanks for tips....
God bless you and your family so much! I really enjoy your videos! They are really entertaining!
Thanks for the tutorial.....I learned a lot today.

Why don’t you get a photo tent. Put lights left to right if the tent, then one light above the tent.
