    Cute babies😊 Have fun learning milk goats!
    I had a couple thoughts on your milking process:
    I don't see any reason to wipe the udder down again after milking. Doing it before means any bacteria spread from the udder's skin to the teat orifice will flow off with the milk. After milking the teat orifices are open, and wiping around could give skin biome a way inside the teat and udder.
    In a similar vein I would recommend a teat spray bottle rather than teat dipping cup or aftercare balm. That way the teat orifice gets a perfectly clean drop of "closing-off" liquid and the remaining liquid is not in contact with any bacteria.
    In a nutshell, everything hands-on before milking and no contact with teat orifices after milking is the safest way🙂

    Beautiful kids, your doing a great job. We have had a ruff kidding season. Losing my heritage line of my main herd doe, she fought so hard and long I was surprised that her huge twins were alive. We have had two sets of triplets, two sets of twins and two sets of singles. Four more to go. Great video. Thank you for sharing. Till next time. God Bless

    When we had Nigerians- we have LaMamcha now- I had 4 Mama's with a total of 11 babies!
    A Pritchard nipple is a life saver when bottle feeding goats. I also weigh my Nigerian bottle babies. Less is more when bottle feeding. No powdered replacer.
    You are doing great! ♥️

It feels so incredibly good to produce your own food! We’re a couple years behind you, but every little step towards self sustainability is cause for celebration!

    Bless you Tiffany! I am so happy to hear you are feeling better! Congrats on the kids! Wow, I think you are doing amazing! I do have some questions... I am someone who have digestive troubles and can only drink A2A2 milk. When I was a child, my mother basically force fed me goat milk. Now, as an adult I have quite an aversion to anything "goaty". Like, I literally gag at the smell. So, the wonderful lady who lets me keep my rabbits at her barn has nigerians, and insists that their milk is NOT goaty nor is the meat, and that it is actually better tasting then cow milk. (not that I would ever be able to have a cow, but I LOVE cows, grew up with them and dream of a sweet little jersey...). At any rate, I know you are honest.. so should I even consider keeping goats? I will say, I visit the goats in her barn every day, and I do like their personalities. They are downright cute! The bucks in the other side of the building however... make my stomach churn. Also... can you explain, in detail HOW you milk? I appreciate the demo, but only ever having milked a cow, I just can't wrap my brain around those teeny teets, and couldn't see what you were doing with your fingers? Thanks! And best wishes for continued success!

    I witnessed my father's goat herd of 100 give birth. Not a single doe gave birth to four. Triplets, in multiples. Interesting. Goat cheese is easy to make. And delicious! Maybe the babies don't like the silicon nipple.

    I love your goats they are so cute! Mama knew her job and hopped right up to be milked 😂. I also have a question, I'm 15 and new to rabbits. I have a rex buck I'm going to show in 4H. Id eventually like to show him outside of fair too. He has no pedigree and is not registered, however everyone always tells me what great conformation he has, is there anyway to register a rabbit with no pedigree if they conform to the breed standard? If not could I breed him to a registered rex doe and register those kits? Thank you in advance xx

  • @cutiecake436
    @cutiecake436 Před 5 měsíci +1

    I wouldn’t retain any bucks unless they have superior lines or amazing conformation. If you wanna keep him as a whether I guess that’s another thing but you probably don’t want him as a breeding buck.

    • @TealStoneHomestead
      @TealStoneHomestead  Před 5 měsíci +3

      So that means this doe's sire is blue cactus? Which buck? They do say not to judge a FF udder too harshly.

    • @SageandStoneHomestead
      @SageandStoneHomestead Před 5 měsíci

      Unless it's his sire's sire. They say udders pass down through the does sire and I don't see blue cactus in the udder!

    Totally off topic but I have a rabbit that has only been bred a week ago and she is already pulling hair and making a nest in her hiding box. I haven't put in a kindling box yet. Planned to do that day 27-28. Should I remove her hiding box. She had it for a reason. She is a nervous girl and needed it.

    • @TealStoneHomestead
      @TealStoneHomestead  Před 5 měsíci

      Sounds like she may be having a false pregnancy. I typically find that to be the case if a rabbit pulls fur a week after breeding. I have had a couple early nesters the nest 2 weeks before due date though.
      If she was in my barn I would likely rebreed 🙂

    When we bottle feed we feed as much as they'll take but when they pop off twice on their own we stop. They can over eat.
