- An iconic Philadelphia deli was shut down for health code violations Wednesday leading to shock from regular customers.
Famous 4th Street Delicatessen failed an inspection from the Philadelphia Department of Health leading to the closure. The owner, however, characterized some of the reasons why as a misunderstanding.
A report from the Department of Health noted mouse droppings on prep tables and a slicer, no chlorine in the sanitizing station, and the city says there were no employees present certified in food safety. 6abc.com/post/4th-street-deli...
Sounds like those chocolate chips in those cookies weren’t chocolate chips 😉
Gigiddy

I was about to make the same comment.
New owner cutting corners.
New England restauranteur. Sounds like he wanted revenge for SB LVII 😂. Go birds!
THE CHIPS IN THE COOKIES WERE MOUSE DROPPINGS😂
what a joke, there is NOT ONE PLACE that is not a health code violation in the entire city
Well looks like that lady hit the lottery twice
It had to bad to be totally closed down
Those weren't chocolate chips
I will never eat there again
I'm not surprised, I've seen some crazy things at upscale restaurants being a delivery driver.Dine at your own risk or learn how to cook.🍕
How much rodent droppings and hairs is allowed in our peanut butter?
Enough to be able to differentiate chunky from creamy…
My late brother in law was a plumber. He was very picky where he ate. He knew which restaurants to avoid. Ask your plumber.
My brother is a plumber. I’ll ask him about this. 😮
Nahhhhh ain’t no way I would ever eat there. Droppings on the cutting board and the slicer machine that’s insane. Smh. That mean they say that shit and continued to prepare food on there. That’s insane and nasty.
😼Need a cat?
Gross 🤮
My brother in law serviced a lot of air conditioning & refrigeration in resturants. Told me some of the top rated places had dirty basements loaded with mouse & rat droppings along loads of roaches.
Ugh!! Mouse droppings!!!😩😩😩😩😩
And this is why I don't patronize any of these restaurants here in Philly, hoagies, fast foods, cheese steaks, wings at this phase of my life are all overrated unless I am at my own stove cooking 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
I remember in the 90s when the alphabet system for health department ratings came out for restaurants. There was a famous, landmark deli in LA (Canter's - it's still there) that immediately received an F and was closed for over a year. I always hated going to that place because the food just tasted dirty and would beg my drunk friends on a Saturday night that we find somewhere else to go. I felt vindicated by the F. I never went back and it's been over 30 years.
I never saw what people went crazy for at that place ...I lived in the valley and friend would make the trip to CANTERS ....nope ...rather go to NORMs
Well I guess they need to shutdown every food store in the city for the same reason
😂PEOPLE LOVE MOUSE DROPPING FOOD AND COOKIES
You’ll be surprised once you see how your Bread is being Handled
😂she talking about it taste good. Had some rat fur in her food
When I said, On an Everything Bagel....
This deli used to be great, but there was an obvious decline of cleanliness under new management so I’m not suprised.
I loved that place. The former owners disappointed me. Now this. Smh.
Inspect Famous Deli on Grant avenue
Wow nasty 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
Probably more imminent domain land theft.
Well it is befitting for the city in which they serve
Damm that’s nutty 4 st deli was da shit back in da day smh 10 years ago that was my stop
I'm glad i never ate there, busy place too.
Are all their customers seniors 😂😂..
