I am surprised that at minute 21.30 Kash who has been in DR for over 3 years and owning and or selling multiple properties to investors and realtor broker is not aware that you need to pay 1% property tax on evaluations of over $160 K ( on yearly base )if you own multiple dwellings under one name. You are only exempt on the first $160 k of your total portfolio of properties.

That amount varies year to year and is based on the Dominican pesos. So it's a constant calculation many ppl round it to 160. But it can be closer to 170 USD. Hence why I said that. Trust me I do know. But thanks for the point out. Important ppl now this is not based on USD but Pesos. So the EXACT number is a calculation

The legal fees in the country are all encompassing. Range is there like in all industries. Depending on law firm / size of transaction / relationships / what is needed it varies. The firm's decides what they charge - not me. End of the day though - it is all encompassing - title searches and everything else. Not for me to say if I like it or not. That's not a justice to viewers. I can call it scam or call it gospel. It is how it works here. Do I feel at times it's unjustifiable... sure. In that case you negotiate like you do anything else in life. Compare a heart procedure in USA to DR. Canada to USA. Does it mean it's a scam...
