that complete flip at 1:36 always blew my mind, haunting visuals.
it’s been 18 years and i still have no idea how they achieved a guitar tone that brutal
marshall, mesa boogie, drop d and high string worship

Just got my 7 inch of this in the mail today. Came with a lyric sheet so, what the hell?
Hello Assholes:
Precautions were taken to ensure safety
Antennas waxed and polished up on snake-bite antiseptic
Baby I'm a living ghost
Flattery is a Bunch of Fucking Bullshit:
At sympathy level we become the prolonged procedure
rubbing fingers with shoulder blades in hopes of creating the rotary that turns back the memory
A Room Full of Hard Ons and Nowhere to Sit Down
Your face looks like the fairy tale explosions
black and blond and red and all that
at the same time
did you hear him mutter under his breath "fuck yeah it's over"
My Stereo Has Mono and so Does My Girlfriend
out the head off son
cut the head off child
this Halloween i'm going out dressed as the man with nerves of steel.
RancidTacoGas That's teamwork at its best 😎
The best 4 minutes ever recorded
It's way easier to read along with the the lyrics to this than it is with Canada Songs. Even when I read along with the Canada Songs I've got no fucking clue what Lex is saying about 94% of the time.
"I want to watch you undress through a keyhole" is all I got from that album..oohhh and something about the canines nose in your crotch..
@@JohnCandy666 The backing "Sign here, initial here, and sign here and here and here" on Jones From Indiana is pretty clear. And you can kinda make out "townsfolk" and "small villages" (though not in the order of the lyrics according to the lyrics sheet) from "Defective product has been known to wreak havoc upon small villages and townsfolk."
@@noesunyoutuber7680 yeah the lyrics in canada songs are honestly just poems that suggest what might be being said
the ghost with the most lyrics seem wrong, if anyone knows the real lyrics let me know
i noticed that too. i mean, daughters started off with the intention of just being a jeromes dream and usurp synapse rip-off band haha. but i think they did end up creating their own unique sound in the end. i find that in my own writing sometimes; sometimes i create my most creative and original work while i'm intentionally trying to rip someone else off and failing at it lol.
idontimagineyouandi There's been a shitload of screamo/noise bands that do sound the same at times. When Daughters changed their sound though I was truly impressed, they changed obviously vocally, but for the better.
This isn't true at all. As the sun sets may have started out lyrically in those circles but basically after arab on radar the lyrics become way more offensive and obscure with no trace of the earnestness atss had. Compare every individual voice to 7744 and you'll know what I mean.
Daughters was a means of completely distancing themselves from the earlier more emoish material while certainly retaining the sound of the later albums.
i always start songs by riping off other songs completely, but they always end up being WAYYY different and i love it
I miss as the sun sets that first album was great!
Each Individual Voice Is Dead In The Silence is one one of those albums you finish front to back
A brain hemorrhage has never felt this good.
Im so in love with this band. Track 2 is amazing. Very non-Daughters outro, which almost have a, fuck, The Cure-esque thing about it. But it works. All works, man. It's fucking Daughters.
Amazing to think that this was still a year before The Locust’s ‘Plague Soundscapes’
That's an interesting point.I was just thinking about the similarities between the two. They both have distinctions for sure but they are similar in many ways.Wonder if that played into the shift in style by the time Hell Songs was written?
i think they share fans.. it takes a certain kind of person that's into "experimental post-core written in the format of a powerviolence song, (with some usurp synapse-esq screamo influence, & metalcore influence (in the heavy, low-end, drop-d breakdowns)) to appreciate this kind of art.. but i think that's about it, for similarities.
the locust is more about the synth-noise aspects & "cyber" tones, with snotty punk lyrics, but very fragmented in an artsy way in the sentence structure, with more nasally vocal deliveries..
daughters are more all about the dissonant octave chords on the high-end of the treble strings..t
he very screamo fixture on the balance between perfect clean guitar tones from a marshall jcm, to pretty light overdrive (in the grand scheme of things) (at least compared to the locust's more crust-heavy background. especially on their first several 7"s..))
the nirvana/pixies focus on loud/soft dynamics..
and the sleazy, purposefully scummy, beetlejuice-esq persona thing lol. (
which they kinda try to pull off as being "ironic," the way marilyn manson is just making fun of everything he sees & american culture on 'antichrist superstar,' but i don't think they really pulled that one off as well as him, in my opinion.. lol)
@@smileswrappedingauze I mean if you want to paint something with a wide brush like that then ok.
Locust has those plague soundscapes songs in the can for years before this. This is very good but absolute plagiarism. Plagiarism soundscapes
jeromes dream rip off
´My Stereo Has Mono and So Does My Girlfriend` ( now that I really thought about it ) is the best title to a song I´ve ever , ever read , hahahah .
The locust and arab on radar have better.
Oh and a.c. of course.
Pshhh! The half eaten sausage would like to to see you in his office !
Been listening to them for awhile and 2015 still lovin this album

When I was introduced to Daughters, the recommender described it as a mix of Mars Volta & Glassjaw. This is the first Daughters release that I listened to, and it beyond everything I have ever heard. The newer stuff reminds me of Glassjaw and a little bit of Mars Volta.
You should listen to more genres, the new stuff sounds like industrial music mixed with noise rock.
I have this on 7" vinyl and it makes me so happy...
thanks i was searching for it everywhere!!
lovely
Forgetting everyone's take on how they should've kept this style.
They went on to make the greatest art music that's influenced the world to come.
RIP
Tom Pitts and thus they rose from the dead
Their new style is so much better honestly
so good
i ripped apart my right shoulders' ligaments apart to them about 15 years ago. still don't got them fixed. good times. friendly dudes too
Not only is it probably the best song title ever thought up but the sheer insanity of A room full of Hard Ons makes it one of my favorites from them. Even with their newer stuff too.
this is material is still very As The Sun Sets esque, I wish they wouldn't have gone away from this style.
have this on mailorder black 7
and the tour hand numbered white 🥺
Daughters EP > Canada Songs
That outro sounds a lot like the one to Jeromes Dream's song "A well documentated case of severe autism". I'm not saying it's a rip-off, both of them rule, but the very first time I listened to "Flattery" I made that connection...
@deathkampdrone this whole album sounds just like as the sun sets
Just had to have the album art tattooed on me. I have this and Hell Songs on vinyl. In my opinion, the Daughters are by far the greatest punk band of all time. Going to see them live soon...
My fav band too. Crazy you have this on wax. I am working on getting them together but had pretty much assumed that this one will be a no go. Who put it out?
And still their best
what version of this release is this art from? I can't locate anywhere on discogs
😍😍😍😎😎😎😎🤘🏽
listen to this facebookers
This shit is chog as fuck mane furreal.
hi!
hi
@@user-zr7iq2eg9j hi :)
More compelling than the band's they were obviously ripping off, a shame they only made this and a short album with this sound
One before this, before switch to Daughters is similar- 8949 (under As The Sun Sets)
Isn't this Canada Songs?
No this is the 7"
Big fan?
