    I thought I was the only one who stopped mowing and pulled weeds! Good to know I’m not alone. Keep ip the videos.

    I have a drain tied to my gutter spouts and run it to the end of the backyard. There is natural area behind my house. Used to have a river on my side yard.

    Good stuff Ryan. Glad we’ve been getting all this rain lately, but I’ve noticed some weeds coming in. I’ll be doing my first treatment o Prodiamine here soon as well.

    Barricade is Prodiamine. Not much of a change up Ryan. I’d say Dithiopyr is a change up,,,I typically alter my app between the two. That lawn of yours looks fantastic. One of the best Bermuda lawns on YT

      I think prodiamine isn’t very good. Dithiopyr in the spring is good because is has some post control of crab grass. Spectacle is the best for fall pre-m and poa prevention.

    Great job on your lawn. I have a year old bermuda (tiftuf from Supersod) lawn. I've tried a couple of "natural" fertilizers, such as Turf Nature and Milorganite, and I'm still testing which is best (or a combination). As far as pre-emergents, which do you think is most "natural"? I didn't use a pre-emergent this Spring because I want to keep things as healthy as possible, but the weeds have been tough.

    • @ryandelk04
      @ryandelk04  Před 4 lety

      Hey Michael, I’m not sure about how natural they are but I would definitely recommend using a couple good preemergents in fall and spring.
      But for fertilizer, coop poop is good, milorganite and there are some others that do a pretty good job.

    Ryan - thank you for all the great videos - your advice has greatly improved our yard so far this year. But I do want to get ahead of the weeds next year because we have a LOT this year. Our lawn is just a year and half old. We put out the milorganite around 4th of July and you advise doing it again around labor day if I remember correctly. If I have that correct my question is - can we do the milorganite and the Barricade Granular Pre-Emergent the same day or should we do them on different days this weekend? Thanks again - Jennifer

      Thanks for watching and I’m so glad y’all are getting something out of the videos! The answer is YES, you can put milorganite down with anything. Put one out and the go right behind it with the other! Hope your lawn looks better and better every week!

    I just got some prodiamine off yard mastery. Excited to try it this year as this my first fall, winter and early spring in my new house. Made a lot of progress this summer but it was a disaster. Prodiamine work on crabgrass?

    • @ryandelk04
      @ryandelk04  Před 4 lety +1

      Yes sir it should! I heard you can put 1 app of it down now and the alternate with the Lesco 0-0-7 from Home Depot for a good combo.

    Where did you get your Mower? I have Bermuda grass at 6 inches and I’m thinking this year to cut it down like yours. I need to switch it up

    • @ryandelk04
      @ryandelk04  Před 2 lety

      Wow 6” Bermuda!! I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a thing lol! Even with a rotary I would start the season out as low as you can go and slowly work your way up over the months to avoid scalping. I ordered mine from HD. But there is a good guy out of Texas that has a small business selling these that I recommend. I have the link in my California Trimmer specific video.

    Hey Ryan, have you used a liquid aerator yet? Been thinking about trying one out. Also.. as a southeasterner like yourself we're nearing the end of our growing season. Would it be too late to aerate?

    • @ryandelk04
      @ryandelk04  Před 4 lety

      I use liquid aerate and I like it. It’s hard to really “see” the changes from using something like that but overall I think my yard has looked better since using it. You can mechanically aerate now, there is still time for it to fill in but I always do it in spring. But liquid aerate you can do anytime

    Pre-emergent works for annual weeds. What is the best way to deal with perennial weeds. AKA Dallas grass

    • @ryandelk04
      @ryandelk04  Před 4 lety +1

      From what I’m reading, the prodiamine is effective against Dallisgrass . It’s all about the proper timing.

    Can you put pre emergent down if you're going to be seeding this fall

    • @ryandelk04
      @ryandelk04  Před 4 lety

      The bag says you have to time it out and do preemergent like 4-6 weeks before seeding but this will be my 1st year seeding rye for the winter so I need to do more studying on it.

      This will be my 1st year overseeding with Rye. The bag says I can do it but have to do preemergent 4-6 weeks prior to seeding but I’m a little uneasy about it.

    Don't waste your money and time with that Anderson's overpriced granular. 2 applications; one in the Fall and Spring with your liquid prodiamine should be sufficient. To target dinitroaniline resistant biotypes of Poa, you can tank mix princep and monument. If you decide to use princep and monument, delay the Fall application until the first week of Nov. Alternatively you can split the Fall application into two and spray prodiamine alone in Sept. followed by the tank mix with princep and monument in Nov.
