  • In this video I will showcase the new bowling ball release from Roto Grip the Magic Gem. The bowling ball features a Hybrid cover and I will analyze the ball motions between it and the two other releases in the Gem family the original Gem and the Exotic Gem.

    Getting back into bowling again after a 10 year hiatus. Looking for a strong ball and there's so many now! The Storm Vivid was my strong ball back then and been eyeing on the Magic Gem! Looks good!

      Thanks for watching. Yes the bowling balls have become so much stronger in the last 10 years. May want to look into a strong symmetrical ball like the Summit or Xponent because those 2 bowling balls many be closer to the same shape as your ViVid was for you.

      @@PeteDohanJr Sounds great! Thank you for the recommendations! Will check out your reviews on both of them.

    Love your videos! My only critique is the sudden switch to the other camera angle is annoying. Keep up the good work. You’re one of the few testers that have a “normal” rev rate.

      Thank you for watching and your feedback. I was trying something new with camera angles the last couple of videos and the angle was off for this one. Thanks again I appreciate it.

    So I had the regular gem and really loved it question I have if I get this one should I have it drilled the exact same? It was drilled pin down

      Yes I would drill it the same as the Gem. The ball motion of the Magic Gem is very close to the original Gem even though the Magic Gem is a Hybrid.

    So what’s your thoughts on this modified Pin Down layout?

    • @PeteDohanJr
      @PeteDohanJr  Před 8 měsíci

      I like the delay it creates but with Magic Gem being a strong ball it didn’t work very well on the 2 short patterns I bowled on in the last two PBA 50 Regionals and it’s too strong for me to throw in league.
      I still need to play with the surface adjustments on these layouts to get a better idea.
      I put a similar layout on the Journey with a 3in pin buffer instead of 33/4 and I like it better.
      Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate it.

    since pins were off spot left a 10 pin 😂 ball barely hit the head pin

      Bowlers always blame something when we don’t strike. 😂
