MOST IMPORTANT ALWAYS sleep with your feet towards the front of the bus. If the bus slams on the brakes, your legs will cushion the impact.
Good advice
Thanks for that tip
Very good point
Nice!
If they sleep the other way then they would get their head smashed.
Don't understand the hate. It's just an option for traveling. If you don't like it then don't choose it. But thanks for the video creators for doing this, albeit it feels a incomplete.
Congrats a true bus has spoken.
Incomplete is right, where does one pee at night???
I agree this seemed like lazy reporting, they should've full explored the bus, talked about prices, and maybe got a few quick interviews with the staff and a few passengers.
@@sixchiensblancs I like the rhythm.
How much did it cost? Love it because I spent a couple years on a tour bus. Thanks!
Imagine a late night ride In there where you're just lying down , listening to music , and stare out the window and it's raining , you're moving and have an extreme calm feeling
Yes!!! That sounds so relaxing. And the bus ride went as long as you wanted it to 😃
I love that
Lol, u know how to have a good time 😉
:)))
Yah for only $500 u can too lmao
*claustrophobics have left the chat*
Or drove themselves or flew LAX to SFO, takes about a hour
good heavens. Looks a little too claustrophobic for me.
Yes!
Yeah... Couldn't do that. Even the lounge looks very cramped.
Yeahh I thought that.. Whe ge closed the curtain ohh man ohhh man.. I start tho breath heavily hahahaha
Respect for that bus driver that drove over night
Wft Lol
there are usually 2 people driving so one can rest when a trip is this long
Night driving is actually much easier because less traffic
they use autopilot silly
i make that whole drive easy all the time. and i usually leave at around 11 as well and am smoking my weed pen the whole way.
You never said if there were bathrooms, how many people does it hold, the actual cost, what the lounge was like, what the other people were like, or if can you have alcohol.
Yes they did - they said they were downstairs
theducks.org Oh wow, you’re right. Thanks for pointing that out, your reply and the video gave an amazing, comprehensive review and detail of the experience and bus layout. All of the questions from OP were perfectly answered by your comment “they’re downstairs”. Thanks for the help my guy.
IntelligentMoron I don’t think it’s worth expecting more than the bare minimum from anything not mention, and at the same price as a plane, I don’t know why you’d bother with it. These hucksters are looking for the next free deal, so aren’t gonna come out and say it
@@TheducksOrg Because it's city centre to city centre, which a plane isn't?
I highly doubt you can have alcohol due to the nature of CA laws. For the most part, alcohol in street vehicles is illegal on public property.
I'd totally be on board for this though. Why waste a day on travel when I can do it in my sleep? Might be technically longer, but its less of your life wasted.
Ah, pre-corona times... How I miss this 😭
I was just thinking there’s no way they’d allow this is current times lol
No kidding 8-(
Bugs of any sort in communal, high-turnover accommodations have always been my 'no go' point.
It reminds me of the night buses I used to catch in the 1980s between London (where I lived) and Paris (where my dad lived). Flying at the time was expensive, and inconvenient because of the airport transfers involved, so I always took the budget option of the bus (which used to cost about US$15) and the bus took roughly 9-10 hours.
If you were lucky, the bus was empty and you could make a bed on the rearmost seats or even on the floor and get a reasonable amount of sleep. I don't think my 56-year-old bones could take it these days, and I'm carrying some extra lumber.
I do like the idea of sleeper buses. With earplugs and a soft enough mattress, it would be like rocked to sleep.
awwwww
Night buses. Thank you. I always wondered if the Knight Bus in Harry Potter was based on something like that and now I know!
You're missing the ambiance that comes with hanging with sketchy people at a bus terminal at 1:00 a.m.
I would do that. If I were Stephen King looking for the subject of my next novel.
What is with the word " sketchy" , is vocabulary not taught in school any more ?
@@kenolsen1845 I hope you realize that "sketchy" is a word meaning "dishonest or disreputable." So when he is saying "sketchy people" he is describing them as dishonest or deceitful. I think you need to go back to school.
Then again, there's Google. It's cheaper than school.
It's so surreal greyhound is amazing lol
I'd sleep in the front so that I could get there earlier.
Yeah, but if you sleep in the back you get to sleep longer.
Smarttt!!!!
dude you are too smart to be here.
Wow you just found the best formula
Sit up front and pretend your running at an incredibly fast pace like Jim Carey in d&d’r
$150 is a deal... factor in the cost of the airplane ticket and the hotel (since this IS an overnight itinerary). It would be really cool for longer distances - say SF to Seattle maybe?
flash gordon Driver: Hell nah but will multiple drivers doing shifts
Just take an Amtrak Sleeper if you're going to Seattle, way more amenities plus full meals included.
Buy a plane ticket a couple weeks in advance $60. Amtrak is half trains half buses. And the buses are freezing cold with freezing wind blowing on your head neck legs feet and waist. Never take an Amtrak train bus trip again. Unless I wore ski underwear boots and a ankle length real fur coat
Oh come on, 13 hrs on a coach sitting straight with n pit stops, tapped like scardines
Idk about others but buses make me nauseous, trying to sleep in them at night is like a nightmare, I would actually arrive feeling more tired than before I got in, even if plane+hotel is more expensive, I would never take this bus
In India we call it "AC Sleeper bus" which costs around $8-$10
N lot of headroom
How much to have a chick between the sheets?😉
@@ed9709 the layout of the sleeper buses in india is 2+1... One side double bed and other side single bed...
Yea but is it as nice as that one...🤔
@@franciscomelendez2979 most of them are not, some are really nice tho..
Imagine waking up and thinking you had room for your head and bumping your head really badly on the top of the cabin
I lived on a carrier for a while. Our bunks were only slightly bigger, and no view. I could do this. 😃
Happens to me all the time on night trains. Lol
thats so me in the morning
I can imagine That i would just be triggerd and if something was in front off me i would trow it against the wall
Oof
Nice bus. Good to see that US finally got those *sleeper buses.*
They are like a hotel on wheels. They are popular in Asia :-)
They don't tend to have proper beds with bedding that are fully horizontal though.
Well, of course they are popular in Asia. In Asia, people are tiny. You can stack a lot of tiny people in one bus. But for normal sized people, these busses are really uncomfortable.
Not here in Indonesia but the one in Vietnam is quite comfy.Tried The Sing Tourist one from HCMC to Nha Trang and it's good.Sadly they don't have it to Phnom Penh.Paid big money for exclusive non-stop bus but after exiting Cambodia border they start to picking-up beggars.Disgusting!!
@@handywijaya3689 There are sleeping busses from HCMC to PP, unless they stopped doing it sometime the last two years. Probably another company though. I was contemplating doing it, but ended up going up the Mekong river instead, and taking sleeping buss from PP to Siem Reap.

And they didn’t even mention the website for the company, so I’m not sure what Cabin really got in return.
Most that content was already covered in the video

- Cost can be found on their site
- Lounge is shown in the video
- They said the beds were good
- Looks like one outlet per cabin next to nightlight (maybe two if the light isn't actually taking up one)

While an interesting idea, I felt like with this you could’ve been a little bit more thorough with the review. You just stayed in the bunk the whole time. What was the lounge like while the bus is moving? are there any amenities in the lounge? is there a toilet? Maybe one of you pick the bottom bunk and try that out?
These are popular in Japan and Asia but i don't see much value. I'd hang at the lounge but it looked kind of cramped too. But they could have showed more. No showers of course. Maybe someone bombed the bathroom! Not liking the cramped ceiling! Need part 2 showing the bus. The WHOLE bus. Watching sleeping youtube hosts is NOT my thing.
Agreed totally.
More importantly...are we gonna have to deal with a random person’s sleep farts in the cabin area?

So that's how you Americanize the Japanese pod hotel.
Japanese would be raking in money having pod hotels in popular tourist areas. Problem is......we Americans are rude assholes. So it would be short lived. It would quickly become unpopular with rowdiness, drunk idiots, loud belligerent dickheads. Might work in commiefornia longer than the rest of the states, till bums come in and spread hepatitis.

....cool transpo. definitely one of the best ways to travel overnight.
$79 1 hr flight on southwest
5 hr drive normally in a car
$150 9 hr bus ride
🧐
Are you serious??? $150 bus for a 9hr ride.
really expensive men!
You can take a train.
True but that doesn’t include the time spent at the airport. I would definitely still fly though, but it’s good to also take into account the chance of a flight being delayed, and the fact you typically will arrive at an airport two hours before your flight.
What about the experience on the airport and the flight ur are in for 1 hr $79. Oh last time i was in a cheap flight there was around 4 babies crying all the night and didnt let anyone sleep. Not to mention that i had to spend around two hours inside the airport departing and arriving. Along with the Uber cost because most of the times the airport is far away from where i'm going.
Who is their target customer? As a business traveler this would provide zero value. Maybe it is for the people that like unique experiences so it could be a conversation piece.
No overnight stay? Leave Monday night, uber from the bus station to the office, meetings, dinner, return Tuesday night. $200-250 all-in round trip.
@@chumpzilla30 maybe so... I would say fly for close to the same price but sleep in own bed and much less travel time.
Their target will be people on a budget trying to see SF or LA. I’d totally do this as a traveller as the money would be less than purchasing a hotel room in either city on top of travel. It’s definitely not for everyone but overnight trains are a popular thing even though flying could be cheaper on its own.
Tech people like it
People who don’t like to fly?
I cannot imagine having to exit that bus in an emergency. “Healthy tasting” tea = 😝. Thank you for an interesting video.
I’m sure I could fall asleep with the movement of the bus!
I once took an overnight sleeper bus from Edinburgh UK to London UK which is about 400 miles (644 km). That ride was ridiculously cheap, I think I paid less than 10 GBP (13 USD, 11 EUR) for a ticket bought a few weeks in advance. Unfortunately, as this service wasn't really popular (train or flight are obviously much faster) they cancelled this sleeper service. There are, however, many sleeper trains which are pretty popular across Europe.
I rode a train in the US years ago. I would do it again, but I heard they got rid of the smoking car.
Yes, but the sleeper trains in Europe have an abysmal quality compared to this -- often dirty, terrible beds, spaces more crammed than in this bus, and generally uncomfortable. This bus actually looked like a tiny hotel room, and it's actually cozy.
High speed trains might not take hold in the USA, as the population centers are too far apart and it can't be made to pay.
Somebody ran the numbers a few years ago for a high speed Orlando to Atlanta line, and even that was a money loser- big time, actually. The other problem is that in the USA the construction costs per mile are like 7 times what they are in London, which is in itself very costly. The NYTimes did an article about this. We are no longer capable of building anything at a reasonable cost in the USA. www.nytimes.com/2017/12/28/nyregion/new-york-subway-construction-costs.html
patrick but it might work better in the U.S where train service hardly competes with that overseas

That is very similar to tour buses that bands and road crews use.(I've spent half my life on one of those) The one shown in the vid is European style, the US buses have a little more room in each bunk but the buses only sleep 12 so it's probably not financially sound to use them for profit.

Airconditioned sleeper buses like these are popular across India atleast since 2010. Volvo and Scania are the most popular bus manufacturers here. So famous that overnight, multiaxle buses are colloquially called as 'Volvo buses' the same way photocopiers are called as Xerox. They are perfect for a 400-600km overnight journey. You can sleep well and need not spend on hotels. For distances above 500km or 12 hours, people start preferring sleeper trains or domestic flights to buses.
