Agreed not only that but the approach Mai takes is sincere and I honestly feel like doing something else or trying to plan too far out might be unnatural and less authentic for what she does and how she listens to her followers. I see brands change because of this all the time and usually it’s not for the “better”

Hi! One of the former staff here, we never said she made any zionistic comments (and if she did we are unaware of it).
We only discussed how we observed that she was deleting any comments urging her to talk about Palestine (some being our own comments), and shortly after the staff team spoke up about her silence and how we refused to support her for it we all lost our roles and perks within the server and so did most of the other members who engaged in those discussions with us.
At first we tried giving her the benefit of the doubt, saying perhaps she was donating behind the scenes but then it became clear to us that there were too many coincidences of her refusing to support Palestine and the last straw was when we saw a post with her holding a Starbucks (which is being boycotted) cup.
Eventually we put together that her silence, the deleted comments, our roles and all the effort we put it into the server being deleted, and her shameless starbucks consumption were enough proof to us that she truly did not care about Palestine and her neutrality/silence put her with the side of the oppressor.
We got criticized for discussing this topic within the server given one of the rules was not to talk about controversial/political topics but we argued that these thousands of lives being martyred were not a political discussion; it’s our job as humans to stand with one another and show solidarity instead of alienating them because a server is too sensitive to handle it. This server used to have over 36k members, one ping from us was surely going to raise good awareness despite their arguments that we were wasting our breath and that talking about it on discord “wasn’t going to help.”
Plus, the entire staff team was ignored by Mai for such a long time and we were fed up with it. This didn’t happen overnight, we had been discussing how it felt to be running a server for a little over a year even though she couldn’t care less about it. We tried to push activities and added cool bots but our efforts were not successful because most of those members had only joined to talk to Mai. There were only a fair few that liked to talk because they enjoyed our community. So I believe people can cut us some slack for refusing to support her, especially after we concluded that she’s too absorbed in her own world to make a single post showing support for those living in a genocide.
My point is this is not just about Palestine. There is more than one active genocide in the world and the world is being silent about them too. I know a lot of people have chosen silence because they are afraid of losing their jobs, which I understand to a certain extent, but influencers are loaded with money and they can afford to lose one brand deal to support a good cause because they’ll just get another one from a better company. In Mai’s case, she accidentally leaked on her live video that she got over $400,000 from her merch drop alone so maybe she can afford to speak up and any excuse that she is “not educated on the topic to form an opinion” is invalid because almost 50 days into the excessive massacres you’d expect her to have had enough time to educate herself.
The thing that most of these influencers refuse to understand is that they were given a platform not only because people enjoy their content, but because it’s a chance to show the world that good still exists. Most of them are so blinded by their fame that they’re forgetting their humanity and choosing to stay with the side that grants them immediate relevance instead of long term.
Lastly, I’d like to remind everyone that the Israel vs Palestine discussion is all over the internet. So many people, and so many of Mai’s influencer friends, are being vocal about it. There are protests all around the world, INCLUDING NYC, so the chances of her not knowing about it or about the boycotts are improbable. Plus, why would she get randomly hacked on discord despite her inactivity for over a year and how come only those who spoke about Palestine got the bitter end of it? Seems pretty suspicious to me.
We meant no hate to Mai at first but it got too out of hand and we have personal proof of how we attempted to give her a chance to prove herself and if things got really messy we’ll show them. We have evidence to back our points and one of them was the video the original post included.
I have been following mai for like 4 years and i have always been enjoying watching her videos and i feel like she gets me even to she doesn’t know me I’m so proud of you thank you for giving us real content and being a great person ❤
