Everyone in a while our dog would get his tail tagged by our fence when he walked under it.. we had a single-wire fence that did an adequate job of keeping the cows in. Not too bad of a bite.. but enough of one that you were conscious of the wire's presence when you got near for any reason. Worst part about it was having to go around the fence several times during the summer with a sickle to cut the tall grass down to keep it off of the fence. Deerflies were numerous and ya would get bit often.
