I just loved how happy Alec was when he realized that Magnus was jealous over him.

Like, it was the moment of realization for him, that he was truly loved and not replaceable and definitely worth it. Which - knowing our depressed puppy - were all thoughts he probably harbored somewhere in his brain.

this is a funny thing to remember.. when Magnus talk about the eyeliner I remembered back when I was small around 98s and early 2000s people around me have a tradition to put on kohl on their kids' eyes. I'm growing up in villages in rural East part of Javanese Island in Indonesian. I remembered me and my cousin (who was a male) always prepped with light baby powder and kohl around our eyes after morning bath. the tradition never centered around gender either, male, female, kids were to have it. I never knew why, it has deep roots with Old Javanese believes. we wouldn't required to put on kohl anymore when we grew up around the time for school, age 6 or 7 I think.
last time I went home people in my hometown still do this but it's a fading tradition. it's nice to have a bit of culture where gender doesn't matter. even though now it's quickly being erased as religion began to erode it. religious sentiments has been unusually high these days.
