I watched every second of this video! So fascinating! After divorcing and getting my exwife breast implants I decided it was time for myself, had all my upper teeth pulled for a denture implant. Didnt last, anchor posts fell out. So now its just a denture. After this vid I purchased all the materials necessary to make my own. I have to say Ive never been happier, Nobody can tell and theyre a perfect fit. This is the best video ive seen. Thanks for the inspiration!

I paid for my partial denture today and now I’ve seen how much work goes into its manufacturing I’m surprised I didn’t pay a lot more! Thank you for this very informative video. Both my parents were dental technicians in the 1950’s and although materials have changed the principles have remained very similar.

On top of that, 70% of the cost the patient pays goes to the dentist who gives the denture, the technician always does the bulk of the work for a fraction of the pay, and is responsible for the material support.

You can prevent a ton of tissue side work by lightly skimming some wax into the grooves of the palate and blocking out large undercuts on the master model before duplication. Just steam it off afterwards for final fit. And heavily draw the design in blue pencil so it transfers and gives you an easy guideline to trim to. These were huge time savers back when I made these.

It's sad that so many people can't afford to get their teeth fixed judging from the comments. I feel very blessed that we have the National Health Service in the UK, so people who can't afford this or medical procedures (because they are on low income or benefits) get it done free by paying into the scheme when they are in work. Repetitive music very annoying though!

Can ANY dentist offer them or they come specially from YOUR COMPANY with referral or what do I need to do to get one from you? The good thing about this design is that there is NO METAL that could scrape away on existing teeth or anything. How long would this last? 1-2-3-4 years? For someone who is VERY CAREFUL with eating tough stuff.

This is very interesting to anyone with dentures personally I have had 2 sets and they involved months of sore spots and ulcers which was mostly due to the pink plate rubbing in so many places and being thick and uncomfortable, this is logical as it is an extra layer added to the roof of the mouth but is a pain.

Flexible dentures are not for immediate. Temporary can be 3 months to 1 year.
Your tissue shrinks, and dentures don't fit. Will break if not relined, and you can't reline nor add to flexible dentures it will debond or break. A remake of a new flexible denture is needed.

I had my first partial denture back around 2011 and I was waiting for the part in the video when the wire clasps would be added in. I completely did not believe that you could make clasps out of that pinkish whatever material. I have seen funny videos where people lose their dentures in like skydiving videos. I now wonder if those were these "FLEX" versions. Is there an opinion out there about Fiber Flex clips vs regular wire clips on teeth? I am sure you can add in wire clips in Fibre Flex. Which is the stronger clip-in action?. Nothwithstanding, this was a great video, I learned so much and it helped me appreciate just how much work went in making my simple looking denture. Most appreciated. One question ... what is the name of the pink, gum-like, base material used to (1) bind the false teeth and (2) form the gum backplate? Thanks much ...

For clasps we are able to do acrylic in pink or white, or fiberflex material in clear or pink translucent, or we can do metal wire, or thicker metal clasps. For even stronger retention, for some cases, we even add locator attachments with implants, or ball attachments with PFM crowns (porcelain fused to metal).
The primary reasons not to use metal are aesthetics and comfort.
The base material is acrylic, it's called a "base plate."

So I noticed some major differences from the way we do things at my lab. We do not use the TCS putty and we also use flaskit material for the top of the flask. I also use TCS lubricant spray for the bottom of the flask where the birthstone side is. I also heat up a sprue iron and use the heat to seal the white spray Wax down to the buff Stone so you don't have to coat it with pink wax. And use green soap for separator in lieu of Vaseline. Altho they use Vaseline on the denture side.

Mr. Kahng, I don't know what kind of time frame you're working with but you can save a lot of time finishing by blocking out and duplicating the master model. Use the duplicated model to make the partial on and then you won't have to grind the crap out of the lingual to get it to fit. If you seem to be often finding yourself having to grind the occlusial surface of the teeth after the partial has been cast, then try using silicone spray instead of vaseline to coat the flasks. I found that vaseline will create a space between the stone and the flask wall after boiling out allowing the two halves of stone to seat a little deeper in the flask during injection causing an open bite. Been using TCS unbreakable for many years now. Great material.

An open bite is due to stone shrinkage and also putty shrinkage. We use whipmix resin rock for best result vacuum mix best. PVS bite material shore hardness of D for putty.
Next time try with normal Plaster , shrinkage is greater. Notice technician used hand mixed yellow stone. Occlusion of teeth and base was adjusted. Expansion of nylon material and shrinkage of putty and yellow stone.
