I’m no expert, but a lot of the problems the addiction comes with in children sounds like parents need to spend more time with them. We have for years known about the ridiculous practices of some of these companies which abuse ignorant people that carelessly spend their money on intangible goods.
I love video games as they let me have an interactive adventure or challenge me with competition, however I understand the value of a dollar and only purchase content that I know can entertain me through multiple hours and I can return to and enjoy later.
I don’t know if suing these companies is the best decision specifically help kids who can’t help themselves. I really wish people wouldn’t buy into games that are intentionally trying to drain your bank account (it is very obvious if you would only take the time and look at what they sell).
If you are reading all of this, thank you for giving the time. If you are a concerned parent, spend more time with your kid and show them what healthy relationships should look like. If you’re a gamer, stop buying over priced, under produced, microtransaction laden, cash grabs that you have to delete all of your other games to even install. We all need the self discipline to make decisions for the long term.
