@@hayride5953 because they made it illegal for ford engines to be used. GM threatened to pull all of their vehicles from nascar if they didn’t change the rules for them because they were getting absolutely handled. Nhra was the same way. The 427 cammer was banned from nascar so a few guys took it to drag racing and again, wiped the floor with everyone. GM complained again, this causing the rules to be changed, yet again. That’s why GM won. Not because they’re better. Ford is the only American automaker that hasn’t filed for bankruptcy… that’s for a reason. The government owns 11% of GM. If you think the government wants your vehicles to be good you’ve lost your mind. They want your money.

My grandpa had a junkyard 460 with a good rotating assembly and a hood set of heads that he ported himself in his shop running on alcohol at 17:1 compression making 1300 hp NA. It’s confusing to you that you don’t have to go spend $15k on a dart block to handle the power. He also raced dirt track. Has the 390 Windsor In his shop still that came out of his late model that turned 8400 RPMs every weekend for almost 10 years. He’s going to freshen it up and put a different cam in it and a different intake and use it for drag racing. Too old for the turns he says. But yea you’re right, so confusing…

They probably made rules that effect fords more than the others. Like nascar and the NHRA had to do. Or they’re still on the roads doing actual work
