Update, 2 years later 2nd Battery died, had to replace it out of warranty it cost $284 shipped, better get ready to pay for this every year! samsungpartsusa.com/products/dj96-00234a?gclid=Cj0KCQjwxuCnBhDLARIsAB-cq1r1buYpkHWlD4Tg6btNh_bSnlOYWmOKcGWo1bo-D2r4tY-c1JihIsMaAoQGEALw_wcB, fortunately my credit card warranty covered the new battery, works great now, but Samsung left me without support, these batteries should not last only 1 year
I has same issue, after 1 year, the battery died. 290€ to buy new one.
Thank you for covering the initial mapping process and showing that it has an efficient "run around enough to map the area but don't clean" mode. This was the most important aspect I was hoping to see in reviews as they start coming out, and I was happy you covered that as most robot vacuum reviews don't cover things like these.
For context, I currently have a Roomba S9+ and getting it to complete an initial mapping of all rooms was a 1 week affair. It requires 2-3 successful runs, and a single run was ~ 8 hours of non-stop running (with charging as needed). Adds up after you have 1-2 failures that required restarting.
Really happy to see this feature :)
Awesome video! I'll have to see about getting one of these! Maybe for black Friday!
Astounding resemblance to the HK-Tank from The Terminator. I wonder how easy it is to access its core programming because if I'm going to use it as home security, I'm going to need to add a few things. :P That said, whose idea was to put a tank track on a vacuum.
Hi, does it work if you move it to another floor without moving the station?
Any idea how many floors it can remember?
Thanks
Hi! Thanks for the video! DO you know if this would work well on marble floors as well?
Amazing I really need one
I belive the reason the powerbot was struggling is because the lidar laser must be interfering with the powerbots sensors, as I've read that robot vaccums can mess each other up
Noticed this robot lacks a corner brush. How well do you feel it handles with corners/edges around objects?
Cheers.
It does a room clean and then finishes by doing an edge clean and going around the perimeter so it does a pretty good job
Fantastic review. Keep up the good work. Have you ever tried a roomba?
I have a Roomba Braava for thr tiled floors
@@TheChanClanLife In this video, it seems that if there is a wall , book shelf ect. up ahead that it just turns around, not vacuuming 20 cm away from the wall. Is that so, or does it clean alongside the walls?at the end maybe? What use is a robot vacuum cleaner that doesent get as close as even touching a wall when it should, to vacuum there. Its where most dust settles...
@@TesIaCH When it does a room cleaning it does a edge clean and goes around all the room edges separately
@@TheChanClanLife Oh, that is awesome news! Thanks for replying. I‘m sure I, and everyone interested in this roboter would apreciate a video(review) of edge cleaning. That‘s a really important feature, and helps in deciding wich Robot to buy. Since there is no such video on youtube,(that I could find), it will be watched by many. I hope, you will recognize that having clean edges is important🤣. And make the video. You could show it edge cleaning one room for example, maybe less, or maybe more, its up to you
@@TesIaCH Sounds good, I'll film it doing a room clean including the edges at the end
Very cool, but it’s navigation seems to need some work to become more precise and efficient.
The old powerbot is probably confused by the infra-red lights coming from the new one, thinking the new one is it's base station.
I can't wait until vacuum wars covers this little guy 😁
Yeah still waiting on that
It would be nice to see a demonstration of the no-go zones
Done: czcams.com/video/6Q4zo3bmoQU/video.html
Wow time to replace your skirting boards after using this thing. S7 still takes that #1 spot
Can it do thick shag like carpets? My robot can’t only thin rugs.
you should not just randomly throw objects in front of it, it needs time and space to scan and react to it. Are you sure you can stop your car immediately every time i jump in front of it?
I can, are you brave enough to jump in front of it?
@@roshanbaig2 no you can't, you dunt even own a car, so no.
Wrong analogy, a person is not a machine so they couldn't break every time someone jumps in from of them, but yes, he was wrong to throw objects in front of it, that seems kind of obvious to me.
Calm down.... just a robot

Can it get over pretty large thresholds ?
Hi ChanClan, I just i have this Vacuum for last 2 weeks. I have questions if you don't mind? I see you also have two levels, I am unable to map it to two levels. Most of the houses in the US are two levels, it works just fine downstairs but when I bring upstairs and run it, it wipes the downstairs map. Is there a way to extend or edit mapping? I called Samsung but that was a waste of my 40 min. All I am trying to do is use the vacuum on 2 levels (just like we used to all our life) Please let me know if able to use it on two levels. Thank you :) 😊
Haha the stack of tinker crates made me do a double take - and then I looked at a similar stack in my own house. Seems like it could clean better for the money :/ Thanks for the review!
Have you had any issues in it so far? Like do you have to reset it to factory reset at all so far and if that happens in the soon future can you please 🙏update us about that.
Thanks.
Nope not yet, but I haven’t got it to fully map my space yet, can’t tell when it is done mapping
Does he clean as well as the r7070?
What about the force of the Jet Bot? I have the cyclone force and I like it but I bought a iRomba vacuum after and now I regret it.
I just bought this vacuum and it took three days to map the first floor. Any idea how to get it to map the second floor without blowing away the saved map for the first floor? Many thanks in advance for the help.
hi there, how is the robot after 5 months? does the lidar sensor get stuck?
Is it having mopping facility with water?
This is a future!
Would be cool if they created an R2-D2 skin for it.
Thanks for the review! It's pretty sweet but I expected a bit more "smarts" for the price tag tbh. I've been eyeing the Shark IQ, do you recommend it?
Check out the dreame z10. I wish I could get shark but they aren’t available in the U.K.
the shark isn’t worth it. it sucks in a bad way. it can’t do anything without erroring out. the self emptying base is good, but the robot itself is horrible. i never had it, but i don’t recommend it.
Check out Roborock.
@@RileySlaya It depends on the model, the newest updated version are much better than the early versions
No the shark is crap I would not recommend it I had it and returned it , it has zero suction and broke down after 1 week
No one will throw a baby Yoda in front of the vac. and not give it time to recognize the item in time to dodge it. Also, you moving around the room while filming is messing with it's mapping. That's obvious when it sits there stationary wonder where YOU will go next. Thx for making the video. ANY idea which sucks (for the better) the Samsung or the iRobot i9?
Do all the wheel marks disappear eventually? They look pretty ugly after a day of the bot cleaning. Thanks for the video.
Depends on your foot traffic, for us the wheel marks are gone the same day after the boys walk around the den for five minutes
I wonder if it would avoid puddles on hard floors?
Not the first robot to use Ai, my Ecovacs T8+ Aivi is over 1 year old and has object recognition. Interesting and well done review though.
What about climbing threshholds though
Shout out to Baby Yoda!
Knowing my luck it would go on strike or get upset like Siri when I tell it to F off. :)
Big crags
Wrong on Tesla. The distinctive thing about their self driving system is that they are the only company (I think) to NOT use LIDAR. This is why they hit things that color blend with the background
Is it loud?
All that technology and it still thumps into the walls 😂
It’s quite entertaining lol, the stairs part was the climax😂
Mine never touches a wall or cords.
would have been a more comprehensive and better video if cleaning ability in different floorings, battery life, maintenance, price, ease of use, etc were discussed.
We'll do a follow-up video at some time. This was a pseudo-unboxing demonstration and initial impression as it took two days to map out our rooms
@@TheChanClanLife nice, looking forward to it!
How much does it cost?
It's not fully charged, that's the Only reason the old one stop.

Seems like it doesn't know that's it's a
D shape and not round.
To have lasers it sure is doing alot of random movements like the ones with no lasers
The tank track look is a fail in my opinion, but I would still really like a new Samsung bot
The ecovacs debit n8 pro has lidar and way cheaper and also has a mop feature
Окуенный пылесос. В России продаётся от 89 000 рублей. Спасибо за видео
Wall E anyone?
Did it purposely draw a male phallic symbol on your carpet? Are you sure it didn't do it on purpose?
Tesla isn't really the biggest fan of lidar btw
Yeah I think Tesla’s making a mistake to rely on cameras more, I mean what if your cameras get covered in mud or snow? Having a redundant system is smart. Waymo’s LIDAR environment mapping is impressive, Tesla’s now all about cutting costs, increasing margins for mass production
@@TheChanClanLife effectively that will have a much more permeant effect on society as a whole. Since what's stopping electric vehicles is mostly its upfront cost that the majority of people cannot afford. So decreasing the costs would be in my opinion the wisest thing to do
@@TheChanClanLife but tesla's ahead of the pack in AI navigation compared to waymo even tho they had a great headstart
@@TheChanClanLife If you put cameras in smart places where dirt accumulates less, and have warming gizmo on camera lens all those problems become non issues.
@@abccde3832 unless you don't drive car, dirt is gonna accumulate and I think you need to put camera where it works best which is where dirt is
Just got 2 of them.
Cameras stopped working after first charge on both units, probably due to firmware update. Router shows 600 mb downloaded per vacuum. Samsung support doesn't know how to help so far.
are your robots working now? Also, does the Lidar sensor every get stuck on any your robots?
@@ThanhLe-ny1ng Yes another update fixed it. Working fine ever since. I have never seen Lidar getting stuck.
it looks baby yoda is not happy
seems tall
That's one of my concerns. If it's too tall to run under an average sofa even in a hardware floor... I'd wonder that is the point of this thing?
FYI Tesla cars don't have lidars
True, and a good point. However for cars lidar's aren't effective in inclimate weather, and can sometimes be unreliable with certain "reflections" off of some surfaces. So for a car you need some redundant system that isn't lidar (e.g. a camera), and the thought process is "why not just get rid of lidar if you can't always trust its input?". For a robot vacuum you don't have bad weather inside, or oil slicks, so lidar makes a lot more sense as a quick and effective way to get room dimensions.
One more thing to map your house for big brother. 🙄
Its all fun until that two bots start destroying each other.
Nah just get the standerd version instead
So basically get a roborock or 2 for the price.
Your poor baseboards. In other couple of years, it will have well gauged them.
This thing is too thick to go under furnitures that what’s make robot great.
What I want to know is: will it know not to run over and smear dog poop all over the place?
Ha. It shouldn't, it avoids obstacles smaller than dog poop.
The corners might be brown instead of white
Uh oh, 8 months into ownership, the Jet Bot AI+ battery failed! It's now sent back to Samsung for warranty repair / replacement, will update you all on what happens
Samsung serviced the vacuum for free, don’t know what failed
Ugh. Lidar is not Laser Radar although it has similar uses. Li stands for Light whereas Ra stands for Radio. DAR stands for “distance and ranging”. Also - Tesla cars notoriously do NOT use Lidar...!
While I generally like Samsung products, I think this one is a bust. Simply because of its size.
Not worth it. Chinese companies offer same features same performance for half the price
Like?
@@vincef.5378 roborock s6 max v, dreame l10 pro and many more
@@airrodgers7277 , roborock scratches your hardwood floor.
Technology is not inexpensive.🤷♂️
The shape of the robot is wasted, better buy Ozmo or Roborock.
Pretty much cosmetic, it doesn't have side tank treads like the shape suggests
@@TheChanClanLife yes real kidding ..
Roborock has its own issues.
Tesla do not have lidar
Tesla cars don't have lidar
Too bulk
actually i's a bout the same size as prior, but it does have a higher profile than others
That's why samsung, LG never become known brand in making robot vacuum. They just know how to make it look pretty in the eye instead of make it functional. As a robot owner myself, by looking at the navigation, this robot is not that great. Pretty slow compared to real robot vacuum
Not worth watching it. Almost 30 min of avoiding obstacles, nothing more.
Sorry, there's not too much to demonstrate and its navigation features are really the main feature of this vacuum -- anything else you'd want to see?
Then leave 👉🚪
@@TheChanClanLife The video is good, but you could probably benefit from some editing. Just cut out some bits, make it feel more "to the point"
9: 50 you clearly missed it trying to fly off the top of the stairs and get stuck within seconds
@@nicholaswilkins9950 :) Thanks for the advice, I don't have the time to do that, this is just for fun - I have a very busy professional day job
Is so clumsy! , don't worth the price , I have a deebot and is way better than this one.
Dude, you're throwing objects at it to prove what?
Of course it's going to miss. Terrible video
This robot is dumber than Roborock. Mine avoids stairs effortlessly. I've been using Roborock 5 for 3 years. Excellent and still strong. No issues at all. Newer versions are quieter.
You should have mapped first instead of acting like a 3 year old by throwing things in its path!!
🤷
Ugly, expensive, too tall and no corner brush. Hard pass.
