- What is the Royal Enfield Meteor 350! The Thunderbird, not the Ford, came out on 2002. It was a slightly awkward looking cruiser-ish motorcycle... mostly because Enfield could not, or would not, mess with the frame. It had odd proportions... and shortly thereafter, a fair following. The Meteor is the replacement for the Thunderbird that emerged from the new J-Series platform in 2021. Arriving before the Classic 350, it showed off the vibration-free, in-character new engine which sat in a new frame. It also looked better designed than the t-bird with the same slightly awkward proportions but cleaned up more than ever before. To ride, Meteor's are livelier than the Classic, especially on the highway although mechanically they're nearly identical. It's a little bit cheaper than the Classic 350 and it comes in three variants spanning about Rs 20,000... on screen is the top model, identifiable by the screen.

I own a meteor 350. Its agile upto 110kmph. Bit thirsty above 100kmph. The good thing is that it can flick through city traffic like a gust of wind. The weight is well managed (it is heavy but after a week it feels similar to that of a splendor😂). Very well behaved bike. The only thing it lacks is a tacho meter, kick and a good head light for night rides. The bhp is on the saner side considering the conditions of our roads (even our highways).
How much average u are getting i am getting 36km/l in city

@@sohamtilwankar69 Do some throttle practice and rev gradually. This bike can really move if you rev it hard. After first service maintain a constant speed range if possible, say 15-40 (2nd or 3rd) and in highways 60-75 (4th or 5th). For a 350cc 36 is good. I have received 39 in constant highway cruising in a 125km ride. That's my highest and lowest I have received around 33. And it mostly averages around 35 to 36 in daily heavy traffic commute.
Rear suspension is not good.
@@kvikas3852 It's adjustable. Shift it to mid setting or 2 steps.....mine is all the way. Coz I ride with a pillion mostly....

I own a meteor 350 supernova brown. I bought it in April 2021. It's a great bike. I have faced no problem for the last 2 years. When I bought this bike people initially misunderstood it with harly😂.

I regularly watch this channel. Recently i booked a meteor 350. I searched all videos in this channel but nothing commented on that bike. Lastly i got it today.

@@motorinc The total feel for the bike, comfortable ride, handles my highway daily commute with ease. Reliable start ups, and has enough juice to handle stop and go traffic.
It would have been nice to have seen the same type of discussion when the meteor 350 fireball was launched. It's never to late for a "look back".

Listen to the one that speaks to your heart. That'll make it easier to choose between the two.
@@motorinc It is so, so damn tough to decide. The heart wants to seamlessly cruise at 80s and 90s on the highways on a Meteor but it also knows that that's just 10-20% of the total commute. Rest 80-90% will be in the city where the heart wants to be comfortable on the Classic! 55-45 towards the Classic....(already have an Avenger in the garage, 2 cruisers might be an overkill 😂)

I’ve a ‘23 Classic; is great up to about 60mph and then you are done
Two evident differences are one with the suspension setup and other when you get your feet on ground to move those heavy mopeds.

That's the compromise about a cruiser motorcycle that one has to live with. That said, the optional Touring seat is said to offer better cushioning and space for the pillion.

I wanted to buy a classic sandstorm, went to test ride it, didn’t like it, then I heard rumors that thunderbird is discontinued for quite some time and RE will replace it with something else, something new, waited for 3 months 🥲 then got a new job and bought the Interceptor…😂 and 3 years since haven’t had any regrets 😌

Meteor is very comfortable and the windscreen works well
Classic or cb350. Crusier bikes looks too uncle
I personally Love the CB350. Mainly because of the Hondas reliability factor and overall fit and finish.
But the Comfort factor of Meteor is Just too appealing.
For me, CB350 ~ Meteor > Classic
@@saatwik_saatwik Meteor stance is very good and acceleration is eager. But comfort wise I'd say classic got an edge. The suspension, brilliantly placed foot pegs (not too far nor under the seat, just right) and the lazy cruising engine. This makes classic hit all the sweat spots on a machine.
A comeback of Classic 500 in JSERIES avtar would be great, can you make a video on that please.....
You can voice out to RE to reintroduce Classic 500, we truly miss that torque,
That combined with JSERIES reliability, it can bring wonders to riders' hearts....
These 350s are seriously under powered...
I test rode both classic and meteor one after other, classic got me impressed more than meteor in terms of nostalgia, lazy engine (idk meteor is much of an eager engine than classic) and pillowy suspension. I booked her immediately, but thanks to the terrible RE response, I cancelled and went with the CB350 which was neck to neck on my list. The fun part is my booking for RE Classic is still active (they refunded amt) and it's been 3 months already, this is how RE service is. I still love RE and GT65O is my dream, yet if RE refuses to improve their service, it's a deal breaker for many riders...

@@motorinc I've booked classic halcyon grey (last seen on 500 classic, that's something emotional for me) on March 28 2023 with a tentative delivery date of April 10th. Luxury of being in Tamil Nadu is you get ur Enfields delivered quicker than other states. I went to the showroom on 8th April to check status since the sales person refused to pick my calls. I was shocked to learn that the machine wasn't billed from the showroom side to the factory and the colour was discontinued. They refused to let me speak with their manager and didn't give me his/her number aswell. With assurance that the bike would be delivered before May, I didn't mind waiting. Two days later I tweeted the same to RE and they called me, they said that the colour has been discontinued and I've to wait for atleast 3 months and there was no confirmation from RE side or dealership whether that colour be dispatched. Finally I was done, so said I'll switch colours and go with available stock, the least u expect him is to prioritise ur booking and allot a machine/order one, instead he simply asked me to buy Himalayan or Meteor (though classic was available at their dealership) or cancel the booking and buy somewhere else as I please. So this time I approached RE over customer care regarding the booking and every time I call the waiting period gets an additional month added. I tried contacting other dealerships in my city, was lucky to find one other dealership. But to my shock he said he rode 200kms straight at 100kmph+ to bring the machine to the dealership! I appreciate his efforts but a machine ridden without proper engine breakin period at its potential will drastically reduce its life. I wasn't ready to buy a machine that's already abused as such. So I tried cancelling and as I said earlier it wasn't cancelled till date. I tried raising complaints, visiting the dealership, yet God knows for what reason it's still active. I didn't get a refund until I wrote an email warning abt legal consequences. I was fed-up and relinquished at Hondabigwing. Next time regardless of place I will find a responsible RE dealership to buy GT, if there is any such dealership.

@@motorinc These machines are being sold in good number and they ignore the ground work. I am happy with my CB350, kinda feels like my destiny 😂. I wish RE to improve their game with their dealerships and good service technicians, so no other rider feels disheartened in realising their dream...

Sir I have two options rtr 2004v and the meteor fireball custom black , I and my family prefer enfield due to the looks and the longevity. I will need it to commute 40kms up down 5 days a week , which one would be good ?
Both are good but very different in feel from each other -- take test rides Akash! We're here if you have questions afterwards
I have ridden both, I like the footpeg positioning of meteor more comfortable, and overall the riding triangle is great , yet the Apache is sportier ,rear set pegs , need to lean a bit forward , sound wise both great , only factor to differentiate is the mileage and maintenance cost . I had the hunter in my books but it doesn't have either of both worlds ,not the speed nor the big bike cruiser character. I feel classic is a bit slower and heavy so meteor over classic. What would u recommend?
Mileage, the 200 will be better. Maintenance, it's even. RE will be slightly more expensive but the TVS Service experience, MotorInc fam says, will be worse

It all depends on the quality of tyres and not on the bike

Is it heavier than classic 350? I have test ride this bike.. Just felt bit uncomfortable on round turns compared to 350 classic. May be because of my short height..
I test rode both classic and the meteor. Although classic is a few kilos heavier than the meteor, I found it easier to make U turns on the classic. The meteor's turn radius is much bigger

Depends on you. Your body does learn and adapt if you let it. There are riders who prefer sporty (legs tucked back... like Shumi), regular (legs under the knees) and forward (like the Meteor)...

Before buying RE every one should rent it for 1 week atleast... these are old engine bikes 😑 no cooling system, ABS sucks, heating issue, silencer burning issue, tappet sound issue

I was riding a non ABS bullet once (it was my first time) and I was truly enjoying the way she pulls. When I was over taking a bus that was abt to stop @40kmph suddenly an idiot on a scooter crossed the road from the other end of the road. My immediate reaction was to slam the brakes and the bullet wheels were locked as I started to skate on the road. Once it came to halt and got back riding later, I fell in love with that machine. Why did I like a machine that just couldn't even brake on demand or accelerate quick as required with heavy weight and hot engine in traffic? Well that's RE for u, u can't help but like her as u drive. But sadly RE service and their dealerships aren't good enough to maintain nor purchase one...

@@BeyonderJay Yes I've ridden variety of motorcycles from sports, cruisers, naked, roadsters...I own a CB350 H aswell. Couple more years, will add an R3 to the garage 😉. Yet my love for the old school bullet and her authentic classy way of ride remains ever green regardless of the troubles. That's what makes RE machines what they are. I do criticize their poor sales and service team though...
