This was me 1 1 /2 years ago. I decided I deserved better than that. I am happy with my choice to put me first. Self love is where I am at at and loving it❤
This has been a roller coaster messing with my head. He's been hot and cold about what he wants. He eventually told me he's married and said his marriage is "imploding" yet wanted to keep me as a friend. Um yeah, no. I'm not going to be the third party. Under any circumstances. I told him to figure out his life and what he wants. The communication has stopped. Frankly, I think the intensity of the attraction and connection scares the hell out of him. For me, I thought I'd finally met my actual person. Guess not. Thankfully nothing has transpired except for talking/flirting a lot and getting to know each other.
Unfortunately, we are not on the same page. He would have to give up the life he has now, divorce, deal with the legal and financial issues involved with all of that, move out and heal, all on faith that he's going to have the love of his life with someone he's only known for a month and a half. I really don't see him doing that. And I'm not going to ask him to do that. If we truly are destined, he will do what he needs to do to bring this together of his own volition.
I'm moving on with my life. I can't stand this kind of drama and I don't agree with emotional cheating. It's worse in my eyes than detached physical cheating. HE needs to decide on his own what he wants and to act on that decision without any pressure or interference from me. If we are truly meant to be, he'll make that happen. If he wants to stay where he is, he'll do that. But I'm also NOT just going to sit around and wait for him to make up his mind. I still have a life to live and dreams to pursue.
My gut feeling is he's going to stay in his marriage and is going to try to "fix" that relationship. He already knows what that relationship is. A relationship with me is a true leap of faith. And if he can't or won't take that leap, then he wasn't really my person to begin with anyway.
I'm choosing myself.
I agree with you 100%! So many people in your position try so hard to "convince" them to do the right thing. But that never works out right. Even when they do manage to get them to choose.
Like you said, I had to be HIS decision. All on his own. Otherwise, it ends up just being your decision that he got "talked into". And you know how people are...
We will defend our own decisions, even when they're not the smartest decision. But we'll always resist someone else's decisions and ideas.
