- BHANU DA ( Bhanu Gupta ) 85 year icon who played - Universally famous Sholey Guitar Title Theme and very memorable harmonica picturised on BIG B, both the themes originally played by him for RDB ( Panchamda ) from SHOLEY. Bhanuda has amazing energy he acted in this clip how this theme originally invented and talks of Panchamda during making this theme. He played " Ye dosti - Harmonica " and Sholey Harmonica. Bhanu da is 85 year young man and also gone through bypass ... He is the magic box he had all those " Studio/ Back stage memories of Panchamda " how all those beautiful songs were composed ... Hats off to Bhanuda he was the part of many of the beautiful composition with Panchamda ... Including my most favourite " Gulabi Ankhey " ... Some people lived with the reason and Bhanuda is one of that ... True inspiration.

I guess that is the nature of our film music business. Only the music director and singers get fame (and money). Very few instrumentalists are even known outside the industry. They play for the joy of it, they earn their salaries just like we do.

ভানুদার সঙ্গে আমাদের আলাপ 2000 সালে অষ্টমীর দিন, RDB crazy একদলের সঙ্গে। সকাল ১০ থেকে সন্ধ্যে ৬/সাড়ে ৬ অবধি। RDB কোন গান কিভাবে compose করেছিলেন, ভানুদা কিভাবে কিছু গান improvise করেছিলেন, আরো নানান স্মৃতি ভানুদার যা যা মনে পড়ছিলো। সেদিনটার কথা আজও মনে পড়ে। খুব খুশি হলাম জেনে আপনি ওঁর আত্মীয়।

Hands down one of the greatest opening musical intros to a movie opening scene not just for Hindi films but for any movie anywhere. It’s sheer sheer genius the way RD and his incredible team combined some of the most scintillating elements of western pop, country, guitar, spaghetti western musical tidbits (listen to the whistle) with the basics of Indian film music to create a breezy melody that is one for the ages !!!! And so TOTALLY befitting as a curtain raiser to what is arguably the greatest action adventure drama as well as one of the greatest genre blending yet genre busting movies from India. I still remember with goosebumps the experience of seeing Sholay in theatres in 70mm - one of the greatest movie going experiences ever 🙏🙏🙏🙏. Just the opening train robbery live action scene shot with NO VFX repeat NO VFX stands to this day (in the age of the so-called blockbuster Pathaan) as the greatest and most thrilling single action sequence in in an Indian movie- no need for phaltu drama dialogue the action speaks for itself like Sanjeev Kumar captures it oh so perfectly in his deadpan gravelly voice “Main aur woh do badmaash Jaidev air Veeru” ….and the movie takes off!!! …..no need for phaltu dialogues like “Kursi ki peti baandh lo……” …….😂😂😂

May be they are jealous. Coz the people people who disliked this video are still struggling to get an A chord perfectly when an 85 year old is perfectly playing all the chords which they have never seen before lol. At his age, they would be dead or paralyzed anyway.
@jezuz christz Ofcourse I'm not denying that there are lot of young talented people who can play much better but not at this age. He is too old. In fact he being able to strum those chords still amazes me.

The musical taste of Indian people has been ruined by modern composers like rd barman, Indian classical music is much better than the stupid Bollywood songs of the 20th century.

But what that guy did on the guitar is pure creativity, unlike some of Pancham da's popular compositions copied shamelessly from others creation. The guy you're calling stupid is Tommy Emmanuel, one of the finest acoustic and fingerstyle guitarist. So, respect to both🙏🙏

Master piece...great ever guitarist....the starting of sholay was so soothing played by Gorakh Sharma. He deserved recognition as well first before gabbar thakur jai verru etc.Sadly musician contribution to the success of Sholay went unnoticed without any award. Thanks to youtube otherwise we dont ever or never got to know of the background artist contribution....what a unfair world.
