Seagull was taught & REQUIRED reading in my High 🏫 school in the 1970s. As I recall, at first I wasn't impressed with it as the teacher read it I think, I'm 62 now and my memory of that is blurry. But shortly after, it hit me...what the hell kind of book was that? It sounded like a kids book but is really a PhD in psychology. It boggled my mind I think I was 15 that would be 1975. Anyway. Later when I picked up a copy of illusions from the mess decks of the warship I worked on, I forgot this was the same author, eventually I put it together that seagull and illusions is the same book, crafty Richard Bach is to be able to regurgitate the Masterpiece a second time. I love his books with a passion...I love Richard Bach ♥ 💙 ❤ 😍 💕

    Just discovered this!
For me, Seagull set the table, but Illusions changed my life. It was like the Vedas in one little story. I still have my my original hard copy and read it still once a year or so. Funny, when book stores existed, I’d get a paperback version, read it and left it wherever I finished it; hoping whoever picked it up, needed it the most.

This masterful interview let me reconnect with Richard Bach's view of life. Years ago his books were a life changing influence on my path. I was delighted to hear how "Seth Speaks" dropped into his life, as the Seth books also found me to become an enduring part of my life.

Your book, Illusions has saved my life, Richard. Allow me to call you that, as if I were talking to Shimoda. Take care, my friend---sent to me by the universe. Here's the line that kept me going the last 51 years: "The mark of one's ignorance is the depth of one's belief in tragedy and injustice."

His words have always been a blessing to me. I was given illusions by my friend at 17. She was going through her first battle of many with schizophrenia. She liked me to read and talk about the concepts in the book to calm her fears. It shaped us both.
I just started reading Jonathan to my 8 year old daughter. I just share what my family shared with me. Thank you for sharing the journey and adventure over all these many years.

Those who enjoyed 'Illusions' will find the movie Richard Bach mentions, 'Men Who Stare at Goats' interesting. Worth the time, and definitely not the 'same old, same old' movie. Almost as unique as 'Illusions'.

"it should be required reading".... Perhaps the interviewer has forgotten the message of "One". ? But many thanks to her and Richard for the fascinating insight.

Anyone else notice how often Richard says, "I'm not psychic" in this interview? "Argue for your limitations and sure enough, they're yours." Illusions, by Richard Bach
