- Many people make a visit to the spectacular Stanage Edge every year but not many people know about the secret Robin Hood Cave that is hidden away here in the cliff face.
It’s a mysterious cave that has been named after the notorious outlaw but has seen human settlers for well over a millennia!
I have to admit, this cave is a bit of a hidden gem and not easy to find or to climb into. But, in this video, I will give you some detailed directions on how to find Robin Hood Cave and what to expect when getting in!
Stanage Edge also featured in the Pride and Prejudice movie starring Keira Knightly. So, in the video, I'll show you how to find the Stanage Edge Pride and Prejudice filming location.

The closest car park for Stanage Edge is HOOK'S CARR CAR PARK the postcode is: S32 1BR. It's free but pop a donation in the box.
PLEASE DON'T LEAVE RUBBISH HERE. Preserve the beauty of these natural places. Also, please DO NOT climb too close to the edge if it's really windy! I went on a very calm day but Stanage Edge does see adverse weather.

Thats not actually robin hoods cave you walked down to, robin hoods cave is down and to the right (as your facing out of the "balcony") it requires a short climb upto it (or down from the top if your an experienced rock climber) this isnt a dig at your video, lots of people make this mistake (me included for a few years) keep exploring 👍🏻

Ohhh that's strange! There are quite a few caves on the edge and most people refer to this cave as the Robin Hood's Cave...or that's what most of the photos are on Google haha! Hmmm, I wouldn't be too sure on the location of that cave and climbing around the edge is quite steep.

You probably saw to your right when looking forward in the "turret" a small cave. That's the one. Apparently the people that have been there and know how to get to it call it the real Robin hoods cave. Love your videos anyway. Thanks 🧡😁

Hi there! Probably like 20 minutes maybe a little more? I’m slow 😂 I stopped at the cave and took loads of photos and filmed this video but if I headed straight there it would have been around 20 ✨ the car park under the edge is by far the quickest way to get there. Hope you have a lovely time xx
