It's a "SQUISHY"! I've seen many reactions to this song, but that is a unique description - and quite on-point.

That bridge... The vocals getting into the solo are the highlights of the song for me. And the beautiful intro and outro riff.
the Maids recently opened for INCUBUS in Tokyo and Mike Einziger(co writer) joined them on stage for the world live premiere of Bestie. new album coming end of summer. also on June 12 The Maids welcome The Warning for their first visit to Japan and will join them for the first stop of the Warning mini tour of Japan. I'm expecting/hoping for a collab of sorts from 2 amazing rock bands. cheers

[Bestie, co-written by Michael Einziger of Incubus.] MISA's playing and bass tone are setting new standards... and Akane's drumming is so in-the-pocket and distinguishable... and Kanami's solo is Daydreaming masterful! The recording and mix are as enjoyable as the song and beautiful MV! Miku’s English lyrics (I bet with Saiki and Mikey-chan's influence) are heartfelt. "I can't look into your eyes." Included in Band-Maid's Tenth Anniversary Tour Final Special Edition was a 'Making of' documentary with lots of interviews of the members. Misa, our barefoot assassin on stage, can be very quiet and shy off stage, and difficult to pry words out of, but during her interview she said that she hopes that "We are still doing this when we are grandmothers!"
For over 10 years Band-Maid has fought the good fight, they've weathered ups and downs together, and as a group they've had each other's backs. They hang with each other, visit each other's families, party together; they are besties in real life.

Harry and Sharlene, you know every once in a while you need a change of pace to bring you back to equilibrium. I think "Bestie" is a change of pace song that both the Maids and their fans need to realize how talented and versatile the band is. This is such a beautiful (in so many ways), ethereal, and even angelic looking video. I jokingly (well no completely) tell myself that "if this is what heaven looks and sounds like, I had better clean up my act!" Great band, great music, great video!

This song was co-written with Mikey-chan of Incubus. If I heard correctly he wrote the solo. Then it’s delivered in the typical Kanami style, add to the song but not showing off.
