âžĄïž Understanding Fever in Children: A Parent's Guide
Fevers are a common concern for parents, but with a little knowledge, you can manage them effectively. Here's a breakdown to help you:
    - Measurement Matters: Digital thermometers are the most accurate and readily available option for home use. You can measure temperature under the armpit (axillary) or in the mouth (oral).
    - Fever Doesn't Mean Panic: While fever indicates an underlying issue, it's often the body's natural defense mechanism.
    - Temperature Thresholds: In the axillary method, a temperature around 99°F (37°C) is considered a fever. For oral measurement, it's the same.
    - Feeding and Medication: It's normal for children to lose their appetite during a fever. Don't force them to eat. For medication, consult your doctor. Never give medication based on appetite. Delaying medicine can lead to complications like febrile seizures.
    - When to See a Doctor: If your child has a fever along with other concerning symptoms like rashes, lethargy, or vomiting, consult a doctor promptly.
Remember, you're not alone! By understanding fever and taking proper steps, you can ensure your child's comfort and well-being.
