With naturally really thick, curly, frizzy hair, I’m not able to straighten it even with a straightener or blowdryer. Honestly considering Japanese hair straightening chemical treatment at this point. I WILL get the Draper look!

playing around with few products and styles now my hairs a bit shorter and this one works great. I convinced myself that the messy 90s matte look was for me but actually with my fine hair type this suits me perfectly! Ended up just using Dax wave n groom....cheap but for some reason just works for me...its so predictable n easy to work with. Need to try some of those pliable water based ones still tho. I don't get how you use so little hair product. If you did some jumping jacks, would it all completely fall apart?
I usually use 4x as much product as you do. It's not hard and stiff, but if I did jumping jacks, it would only slightly fall apart

I dig the hairstyle a lot! Only issue i see is that it won't stay put together like that for more than an hour or two
then change your product, i used wax in the past and had the same problem, but now im using some sort of wax/gel (literally that's how they call it) and i don't struggle with that at all anymore

What's difficult about achieving hairstyles like this is that he'd have to cut his hair way shorter than it is. It looks awkward to be quite honest.

I would agree in the sides, perhaps. What I tend to notice about mid-century hairstyles is that the sides are short, but the top seems relatively longer, bar the Ivy League/Crew cut.
I noticed in another one of your videos called the modern slick back hairstyle that it was inspiration from the man from uncle. This hairstyle was too, which hairstyle would you say is more like the man from uncle?

How does one grow it out without it being a mess? I presume one needs a few special haircuts to keep it tidy while it grows out in a balanced way. My hair grows out very messy at the locks and very 'drop down' at the fringe. But not yet long enough for the Mad Men, I think. But I definitely need it tidied for an interview next week!

For me, that hairstyle would break apart since my hair is way too heavy to hold together with very little product. Plus I dont wanna use excessive gel to not damage my hair.

Depends, some are water based and dont get hard at all. My Hanz de Fuko Pomade doesnt get hard imo

PS: I recommend straightning your hair (as Jordans said before) if its in the longer side and then applying the product - it helps get rid of the waves.
