Defense Requests Mistrial in Trial for Arbery's Accused Killers

- In the trial for the three white men accused of killing Ahmaud Arbery, defense attorney Kevin Gough asked if bailiffs could identify and keep track of everyone from the public coming into the courtroom.
Judge Timothy Walmsley denied almost every motion Gough presented after the defense attorney objected to the presence of Black pastors in the courtroom last week. The defense also requested a mistrial. BNC chief legal correspondent Laura McNeal joins "The World Tonight” with Kelly Wright and Nayyera Haq to discuss the court proceedings.

OK, so looking past my feelings, I can understand what the defense has been doing throughout. They have to defend the indefensible, so how do you do that? Well, you don't, you throw up smokescreens, you make outrageous comments, you pretend that your clients are noble knights, rather than the backstabbing cowards they truly are. In short, you conduct yourself in such an outrageous manner, that one to two years on, assuming your clients are found guilty, their new attorney's can reasonably claim that the prosecution made technical errors, the judge made technical errors, and most importantly, that the former attorney's behavior so alienated every reasonable person, that their clients couldn't get a fair and unbiased trial. They'll only have to find one, just one juror, to say that they'd heard about the present attorney's comments before making their decision and whether it's money or blackmail, there's always a lever to apply. T'aint exactly stupid, you must admit.
That manipulating weasel's actions (to get a mistrial) have been transparent from Day One.
