Boys, whats the deal! Today i got the chance to drive one of the most unassuming beasts i could imagine. A Honda Accord. Thats right, an Accord. This thing is fully done up (see mod list below) and is ready to eat v8's for breakfast. This Honda Accord clearly has the power, and im happy to report that it also has the handling capability aswell. Taking this thing through corners thoroughly suprised me to say the least. Its very nimble for its large size and has great potential to be a dedicated canyon carver believe it or not. We did some accelerations, some corners, and thats right, launch control. I hope you all enjoyed the video!

A new Accord Type R would be awesome. They made an Accord Type R/Euro R only available in Europe (EDM) and Japan (JDM) Markets ages ago. With an H22A7 motor in it. Around 2002-2008.
The Accord is the new generation sleeper. I’m more impressed in the Accord than the Civic Type R.

I know I am commenting late. Nice build, thanks for the video. I would recommend a Ultra Racing strut bar and a 6mt upper torque mount if you don't already have them installed. The car will feel more planted and precise in the curves. I am running Hondata 93 tune, catless down pipe and I have ran a stock CTR and pulled a car on him from 30-80, ran 2 times, same result both times.
I have put 25,000 miles on Accord after the tune and pipe, no issues. Thinking about flex fuel kit, but I don't want to mess up a good thing.
So a Accord Type R would be cool, but for $1,500 in upgrades you can have a fast, fun, reliable daily driver.

People surprised by an Accord handling extremely well never heard of the old Accord R, the TSX, or their pedigree on the racetrack. They’ve always had higher suspension tuning potential than civics.
Ironically, if you were put an Accord in Europe, people would go nuts since it looks better than like 99% of the cars here in Europe. Oh btw, No accords in Europe! They are more rare than exotic cars here.

Not true. The accord here is known as the inspire in other countries and the tsx here is the accord.

@@simjim2606 yes here in the states it's not the same chassis as the accord. The inspire chassis is known as the accord here in the states. And the tsx chassis in the states is known as the accord in other countries. Acura is mostly made for the United States. Mexico and Canada and some of Japan gets acura. The rest of the world does not. It's the same thing as the integras. Honda integra 1st 2nd 3rd generations and the rsx here is the integra elsewhere. Etc. As their are differences in accord/inspre and tsx/accord, they share the same chassis. Oh and plus some of the American tsx and accords share some of the same suspension and some interior parts depending on the gen. 7th gen accord and 1st generation tsx (7th generation accord cl9)

You should do another vid of this car with the camera pointing at the speedometer. It’s hard to get an idea of how fast the car is accelerating when the camera is pointed at the driver.

@@josephr.8622 They are actually built pretty well I'd assume given that the fastest accord rn is at 500hp and has 100k miles on its stock transmission. Of course, he switched minor things like rods but besides that, his block isn't built much at all. I get that a lot of people do mod their cars without realizing how much it can affect their reliability but Honda actually did pretty well with the Accord 2.0t and their 10spd.

I have a 2.0T 6MT, stock except Eibach rear sway. The torque really is addictive. Also agree that it handles a lot better than you'd think.

@@referenceplz5547, I have mine on the softer setting. It's pretty subtle, in normal driving you might even forget you changed it, the rear is just that little bit tighter feeling. Throw it into a corner quick and you'll remember you changed it though, def stays flatter. I'm tempted to buy the front bar as well, but I kinda like the balance it has now.
Before any reviews & anyone really got a feel for this new Accord model. As soon as the car came out, I instantly fell in love with it & it became a new dream car of mines. Looks alone, it's just perfect. & It's a Honda so, you're good there lol

This is inspiring. I have a 2009 v6 Accord, and I'm seriously considering doing some mods. A turbo kit along with exhaust, cold air intake and suspension should give it some serious power. It already has 270hp stock, but it's a heavy car. Of course I can only imagine what my insurance bill will be, but the added fun is worth it.

The 1.5T accord with a tune and a few mods is so much fun. Just gotta watch the power with the cvt. But they do offer the manual. Hoping to trade mine in for the 2.0

Its not bad at all i own 1 and so far after 50K Km its been great, yaris is a shit car, i owned 1 and have driven it for a long time. You must not compare accord cvt with nissan n toyota or mazda, honda makes better cvt. It saves fuel, i dont drive 1.5L T like its a sports car, i just go 2 point A to point B while saving my gas.
Shifting seems a bit laggy but I’m not surprised, these accords are pretty damn impressive and those are nice numbers for a affordable price I’m sure. I’d rather jump in a VR30TT under 5k and you’re touching 500 nonetheless these accords look so damn nice!

How long did it last ? Thinking of getting a 2018 accord hybrid 2.0 has 98k miles . Are they reliable ?
I have a 2022 Honda Accord Sport 2.0 and i want to tune mine so bad! But i am afraid over time that it will ruin the engine. I know nothing about fixing and modifying engines. Is there a way to actually not push the engine too much to its limit and still tune it to be safely faster? I know the engine is the Type R engine so couldnt you just tune it exactly like the type r and add the parts in? Seems like the most safest way.

I'm currently building my 7th gen accord 6-6 ATM it's going go be a oe+ build just to actually break it in cause it's being rebuilt. Eventually it will be a compound turbo setup on low boost hoping for anywhere between 4-500whp. And on kill I'm thinking 600+ not already what size turbos I'll be using yet. But it's a fun car and I can't wait to have it running again

My last Honda product was ‘07 MDX; prior to the MDX: 3 Accords, 1 Prelude: all had the same problem: transmission failure.

I have a Phearable stage 3. It shows as 304 HP and 363 torque at the wheel. No other mods and it's a monster. I could only imagine another 100 HP.

I can hear the lineage of the F22/23 powered accords from ‘90 to ‘02 in that engine and I love it
I’ve always loved the growl of those big old single cams, and this sounds pretty similar
I can agree that it’s unexpected for the v8 owners. We have similar set up minus the turbo n custom tune and I’m right there with the scats. Can’t wait to get a ctr turbo n prl intercooler with a custom tune to top it off and I’m happy... for awhile. Lol

@@SovannaSom I had a upgraded CTR turbo on mine which lasted about 6 months before the engine blew and took the turbo with it lol too much power for the engine i guess but then again I was abusing it pretty bad luckily I used to work at the Honda dealership where I get repairs and maintenance done and the service manager and the techs are my homies so they made a false warranty claim for me saying the engine was bad and I got it replaced for free under warranty it was a fun ass car just that after all the money I put in it I still wasnt able to Play with the big boy Boosted V8’s so I ended up traded it in for a 2018 Camaro SS, but since then I met a girl that I have been with for 2 years now and she picked up a accord a couple months ago and I just finished up the Boosted SS build which means we will be building her accord next lol it’s gonna take maybe a year or so but honestly even though I got a V8 now I can’t wait to finish the accord build and see the V8 guys reaction when they get smoked by my girls accord again 🤣

Ive got the 2.0 10speed accord u have to get the type r turbo, torque on stock turbo comes in early gives u alot of wheel spin, Type r turbo power is high end, none the less still fast as shiii*
It would be nice to see some actual numbers using a Dragy. Like how would it compare to my G70 3.3T in stock form. I have no doubt it's quick and the Honda 4cyls are tough motors! Great car the Accord

@@blockhuggerdoeboy357 its not due to engine, vtech is awesome, but the rubber like CVt engine makes shifting slower and harder . Vtech best engine for non V engine. go research why they are faster then other same capasity fuel buring engine.
Because those objects are further than you think. The outside world doesn't turn to streaks the second you mash the gas in a "fast" car like in the movies kiddo. Not even in a veyron.

one of these new accords tried me on the freeway, lets just say he learn his place that night, and the difference in a turrbo 4cyl vs a twin turbo v12 making 600lbs ft torq at 1800rpm
Everyone is slow to someone, your v12 making 600lbs of torque is nothing to a lot of people.

I have a 2007 Honda accord all white with blacked out headlights rims and tail lights I’ve done a couple mods to it but nothing crazy and I love the car I’m only 18 and this is my first car but I’m already looking into the newer accords and some acuras I love the car!
As far as handling turns my cars also does great I love taking curvy roads at like 65 mph

I need to see dyno sheets to believe this makes close to 400 torque and 400 hp. Not saying it’s not possible with the right mods but seriously this probably makes like 350ish wheel at 380tq which is GOOD. But I don’t think it would take v8s from a dig or a 40 roll. I need to see it first!

If you like fast accords, check out some of the v6 accords out there. The 8th gens seem to be the best stock, but all gens have a unique charm and finish to them.
LOVE my 07 v6 6speed manual, chirps in 3rd. eats up mustangs.

Maybe the 1.5t but you're not taking out a 2.0t Accord with a TL. Not even close. That's why the new TLX Type S is going to be such a big deal. Other than the NSX, it'll be the first "fast" or "real" type S Acura in years.

That’s some insane performance mods by your viewer who lent you the car. I have a 2.0t and it’s more than enough power especially if I put in SPORT mode which unleashes the beast. I’m sure if I got the ktuner or hondata tuner I can open up more Hp/tq since it’s a detuned type R motor. Is driving on SPORT full time going to wear out my motor faster? I only use it if someone pisses me off on the road lol but mostly on D.
