    Thank you
    Hi
    This little Modus would randomly light up the airbag warning light.
    The light would come on and would go off with no pattern whatsoever...
    When I decided that was time to have a look at it, the light was not on, but I think that throughout the video I do show what was possibly causing the issue, and how to resolved it.
    I also thought, that this would be a great opportunity to show you how to use the tester I have made, to test airbag circuits.
    Video here: • Airbag circuit tester....
    NOTE:You will see when testing the tool, that the 1ohm knob was set to 0 when actually putting out 1ohm... I later found that was just not aligned correctly...
    Hope you enjoy the video.
    Any questions or comments put them below.
    Like always, thank you for watching!

    The airbag computer on Modus is behind the handbrake, but under the carpet. Do you know how to get access to it? You have to cut the carpet in half? Thanks.

    Great info in these videos! Thanks for putting them together. One question: What did you lubricate the clock-spring mechanism with?

    I've heard you should leave the car for 30 mins after disconnecting the battery before removing the air bag - what do you think ?

    • @LMAutoRepairs
      @LMAutoRepairs  Před 5 lety +1

      Top Tunes
      Theories....
      I mean, there is a principle behind that...
      It is so all the capacitors have time to discharge... etc...
      But, shall we all be scared then, that is a circuit fails, like I have showed in other videos, were wires break, etc... that the airbags are going to deploy?
      But hey, do it following the procedures... if is something you can diagnose and do with the battery disconnected, then disconnect it... unfortunately, in real conditions, sometimes you need to do it like I do here, so you can see exactly what the module is doing...
      Hope somehow that answers your question....
      Thank you for watching!

      Hi
      Depends on what you are doing...
      Good practice, yes... always disconnect the battery before touch airbags...
      Well pointed out...
      Thank you for watching and for your comment!

    Is it save to unplug airbag connector while ignition is on? Will not it blow up?

    • @LMAutoRepairs
      @LMAutoRepairs  Před 5 lety

      Slawek h
      Why should it blow up?
      If a circuit fails, like many I have repaired, nothing blows up... so, thus is not much different...
      Yes, there is the static voltage, the possibility of shorting something...
      As fair as you have it under control I can't see a problem....
      Also, this was the only way to show you the readings, live data etc... I would not be able to do it with the battery disconnected or the module....
      Thank you for watching!

      @IntradeMotors Před 5 lety +1

      Slawek h just don't mesure with a multimeter it's why resistors are used instead to test.

      Intrade Motor
      Confused...🤔
      This tool is "a resistor"....
      I do use the multimeter... I was just demonstrating the potential of this tool... or other ways of testing and diagnose airbag faults....
