This is the first Olox video I listened to while mucking out my livestock trailer near my San Clemente Island goats and my Anatolian Shepherd/Great Pyrenees guardian dogs. They all came alert and the dogs barked in excitement. Later I watched the video. How beautiful and strange!

Words cannot describe what I experienced while watching this. I've never felt religious ecstasy before and had assumed I couldn't feel it. Raised Catholic, for what that tells you, and always resentful of religion after seeing the darkness in that.
But no. I was wrong. I don't know yet if I want to stop calling myself an atheist, but I can acknowledge that what I felt just then was real and important and *mine*.
Because I started weeping when I realized you had no agenda, no ulterior motive for asking the grasses if they feel pain. You didn't answer. There was no rhetoric. You simply invited us to listen.
I've always seen religion as such a predatory thing. I've seen so much abuse that I stopped believing any of it could be important. But it is, the spirit is important, and I've been missing out on cultivating it for a long time.
For you to offer this ritual up for the world to judge as a gift, I have so much respect. Thank you for sharing it.
