If there was ever a knitting machine that needed a counter I feel like it's one with a lid that keeps you from seeing the knitting lol it looks epic though I love all your customization and it's great you got the counter to work! I also feel like it's weird Sentro didn't put their name on it at all. I wonder why🤷🏻
Not going to lie my nerves were a little rattled watching you take the machine apart but it turned out so cute! Also the fact that you were able to add a counter is amazing!

I love this machine, perfect middle ground between the Addi and Sentro 22 and the Addi 46 and the Sentro 48. Ear wamers and scraves are just the right width. Love what you did with the machine to make it your own. Your very own knitting cauldron
I never comment on CZcams videos like ever, I'm just a watcher. But I wanted to say that I discovered your channel recently and you've been my comfort watch ever since. I love your energy and style so much!
When painting plastic like that you do need days of cure time. Especially a primer needs to cure for many hours before painting over it and then even after it needs days to really dry completely so it doesn’t feel sticky or tacky or wear off quickly paint does need to cure with that. You need a lot of patience, but it looks amazing.
I just got this machine. I haven’t used it yet because, like you I needed a counter. I ordered a digital one and am going to install it tomorrow. I absolutely love how you painted yours! It’s a piece of art now 😊 love your channel and can’t wait to try your designs. Thanks for reviewing and showing your painting process.

Just purchased the same. Love how smooth it is and it’s more quiet than the other ones. It’s a mushroom and there’s another one with a kitty top and has little ears but not sure how many needles.

I love mine, still looking at different counters to put on it. I got it specifically for leg warmers. I'm an 80's child all the way and neon pink and black leg warmers will always have a place in my heart....maybe not in my wardrobe though. As soon as I unboxed it my cat claimed the box. She loves to watch me when I use any of my knitting machines, or when I knit or crochet.
I have the same counter and use it on both my sentro 48 and the 22 (the one with the bunny ears). I found that putting the magnet and pickup inside the machine kept getting caught on my projects. I ended up using velcro on the counter part and the metal attachment so I can move it from machine to machine. Also I bought smaller magnets that fit under the hook and it works. Keep in mind if you use this method you won’t be able to use the mushroom top while knitting, but this way it’s removable and you don’t have to purchase multiple counters. I just found you I am so excited to start following you and check out other videos I originally was looking up spooky yarns and found your big twist Halloween yarn vid and then your review for this sentry mushroom machine and 1. I’m hooked I need one! I have the regular 48pin but this 32pin is perfect for children’s hats and like you said legg warmers!

I think originally thes machines were meant for kids, like the Mattel ones from years ago. That explains the mushroom top.For counting, while I.m waiting for a counter to arrive for my 22 and 40 I just make a pencil mark every 10 or 20 rows

First, I've never been brave enough to dismantle any of my craft tools. And, the fact that you can customize the mechanical tools never crossed my mind. You are a complete SUPERSTAR!!!

Wow, the end result is stunning! I'm so glad you managed to get the counter to work, in the end. The paint job is amazing and hopefully yes, the primer and top coat should help prevent some of the wear. I'm glad it all went back together and the tolerances weren't so tight that the extra layers of paint caused issues. As for the use, I could totally see it being a great option for as you said, leg warmers, but also maybe sleeves too. It's just nice having options for different sizes of people (and child-size heads). I have the big and small sentros, I might have to add this onto my list.
This looks perfect for Cardigan Sleeves. How snug is it as leg warmers? I make sweaters for my kids. This would be great for loom knitting blended projects.
Invest in the drill adapter, it's so worth it. The machine isn't being pushed around and it goes fast, saving your shoulder and wrist.
Well I just found your channel tonight, why havnt I seen it before. I love these types of machines. About 15 years ago my Parents came to visit for Christmas and to see there 4 grandchildren and I had got one of these knitting machines to try. Anyways my Dad loved it so much he went and got 4 more one for each kid !
He would set ithem up and then see how fast they could make hats. It was a fantastic Christmas had by all !

I absolutely love the paint job on the knitting machine. Red is my favorite color. I just got a 22 peg knitting machine for my birthday this past weekend. I haven't had the time to get it out and play with it yet. It's a sentro and the paperwork says "rabbit knitting machine". I find the video tutorials to be amazing help. I'm loving your channel.

when taking things apart it helps to video so you know where parts went. pictures on your phone also help.
I got one of the counters. I rigged up one magnet on each machine and just Velcro the yellow thing to each one that I’m using at the time

When I don't have a counter, I just use my fabric tabe measure to approximate the row count. The machine looks great. Good job!

I acquired all the Sentro machines in December and bought the exact same digital counter from Amazon. My counter is still not installed because it is just so confusing. I am so impressed you got it to work. Your customisation is amazing too!
I just got this 3 piece set of addi knitting machines. I have been eying them for years and decided to get an automatic turner thing so I don’t have to do it manually. Which is also convienent and faster. Nice video. Inspiring. Thank goodness mine is already black other wise I’d be doing the same thing! Love your channel. I’m also a yarn artist/crafter and I basically gave up and haven’t worked on anything this past year bc I was going through it. Which isn’t like me. I love how adorable it looks! I wish it was big enough to make hats (for myself) with. if they ever come out with a larger mushroom, then I will 100% buy it!! lol
This is way old but I wanted to say that if you want to paint something that has a glossy surface, give it a light buff with a medium or fine grit sandpaper! It helps roughen up the surface so the paint can better adhere to it!

Dopamine Innovation is a small business that makes stitch counters specifically for Sentro machines. They are the BEST and small and they are 3D printed so i bet they would make a custom colour one for you if you reach out!
