Getting started with the Rider 320 & 420. This tutorial will help you make the most of your new Rider 320 & Rider 420 GPS Cycle Computer. In this video you will learn how to perform the initial setup for your new Rider 320 & 420 and get it ready for first use. Simply turn on the device, choose your language and measurement preferences, and the device is ready to go! Additional configuration can easily be done using the Bryton Active app.
With the new Bryton Active app, setting up your device has never been easier. Simply sign up and log into the Bryton Active account and control your device settings and configuration, create Follow Track routes, upload FIT or GPX routes, share your rides with third-party applications (such as Strava), and much more! You can download the Bryton Active app on the Apple App store or Google Play.

I am already using a Rider 10. Hope to upgrade to a Rider 420 in the near future.
I have two questions:
1. Once follow track is running, lets assume we switch to another custom data screen. Will the device automatically switch back to the follow track screen when you are nearing a turn, junction ( any scenario that requires the rider to change direction or path) so the rider stays on the planned track/route?
2. Does the unit support electronic shifting data such as Di2 battery life, gearing etc ?
@Bryton strava segments would be nice. But very nice computer, i am very happy with it
I am looking for some help as Bryton Support has not bother to respond to any of my support requests. I have a 320 and have used it for outdoor cycling for about 9 months and it worked well. I purchased a new indoor smart trainer (Elite Zumo). The Bryton 320 paired successfully with power and cadence/speed. The cadence and power displayed on Bryton are accurate and the same as what the smart trainer software shows. However, the speed shown on Bryton is not close. The smart trainer vendor suggests a wheel circumference of 166 at which point the Bryton displays a speed of about 3X what the smart trainer indicates. I have tried smaller values for circumference which a close match in speed, but I would like to know if there is a known setup for the Bryton computer

Hi. I need to replace the USB port, the contacts are bent. Where can I find the Rider 420 disassembly scheme? How do I take it apart to show it to the repairman?
Can you change the initial odometer distance value? I'd like to put the value I already did with my previous bike computer on my current bike
Compared with rider450 (my previous gps), it is not anymore available the navigation map when you scroll the pages. I did not find nothing about it. Usually i set two pages with parameters (like speed, time, HR etc) and then the 3rd page was the map. Any suggestion or rider420 as it is?
Is it normal to use too much mobile data when using this Bryton420? I’m kind of surprised to use 4-6Gb for a 100km ride.

There is a problem about bryton 420 hearth rate zones:i set my hearth rate zones in Bryton applicatiom, but after workout the workout heart rate zone chart is bad because after in zone2 ride (my Z2 Endurace zone is 120-130) but the active show that was zone 1 ride
given its use I would have preferred the IP66 degree or the double IP66 / IP67 degree (as specified in paragraph 6 of the EN 60529 standard)

Im syncing my bryton app to strava but now in my strava, i got two profiles. My own strava profile and strava athlete.
Whenever i save my riding with strava, there will always with that strava athlete which i know it’s my profile but it’s not syncing to my strava acc. When i just ride with bryton, it did not upload to my existing strava acc but strava athlete. How to solve this problem? It’s like im having two profile

Can I add view the file system on the 420 by using a USB and a Windows PC, and then be able to add .gpx files to the Extras folder like I was with my Rider 330?

Hi. My Bryton Rider 420 E shows lines on the screen. I didn't drop the device or anything, The lines shows up after I charge the device. Can you help fix this issue?
Do I HAVE to use a smartphone APP? I don't have a smart phone & I don't want or need one - So can I set up Rider320 without APP???

Rider 320 doesn't support follow track function.
can you please tell me how you adjust things without the APP. I don't have a smart phone and don't want to spend a few hundred quid on a phone just so I can set my GPS up.

Maybe a useful addition for people not receiving all smart notifications on their device, as I didn't get any Whatsapp notifications on my 420.
For Android go to Settings > Apps > (Press menu button) then choose Special Access.
Then click Notification access.
At last select the Active app from Bryton.
Done.

Android:
1. Go to Phone Settings and select "Apps"
2. Select Menu/Options in the top right of the screen (may be different in some Android phones)
3. Select "Special Access"
4. Select "Notification Access"
5. Enable Active
6. Restart App and retry
If the problem persists:
1. Go to Settings
2. Select “Application Manager”
3. Display system apps (you may need to either swipe left/right or choose from the menu in the top right corner)
4. Select Bluetooth from the now larger list of Applications
5. Select Storage
6. Tap Clear Cache
7. Go back
8. Finally restart the phone
iOS:
1. Go to Phone Settings and select "Bluetooth"
2. Select Bryton Device from list of Bluetooth Devices
3. Toggle Share System Notifications
If the problem persists:
1. In settings, navigate to "Bluetooth"
2. Find Device in list and remove connection
3. Turn off bluetooth and close Bryton Active app in background
4. Turn Bluetooth back on and open Bryton Active app
5. In app, navigate to "Device Manager" in the "Settings Tab"
6. Pair device

How can I identify that my Bryton 420 has the battery completely full when I'm recharging it?
Hello Marco, thank you for your question! After plugging in your Rider 420, press and hold the power button to turn off the screen. Once turned off, you will see a battery charging icon on the screen. When charging is complete, the icon will show a full battery and you can unplug it. We hope that answers your question!
use USB current testing device, once charging currrent drops from 340 to 150-200 mA, its almost full.
I just bought and used my 420. After my ride I turned the power off before saving the ride, now it appears my ride data is gone! Is that so?

What? So what the point of buying the device if i can't upload the interval training/workout plan? Even the older model have the function. So the device literally just to monitor speed, cadence, hrm. Hopefully your team update the firmware to enable the workout plan fuction
How do i change language in the 420 head unit. Accidentally picked wrong language
Download the Bryton Active App, then go to setting to change the device language.

Alternatively, on device the language settings can be found using the following string:

Hello, thank you for your comment. To set up your language, please configure using the Bryton Active app in the "Settings" tab under GENERAL > DEVICE LANGUAGE. When doing this, please ensure that your Rider 320 is powered on and connected to the Bryton Active app.

Laisse le a ciel ouvert et si ça ne marche pas installe sur ton pc BRYTON UPDATE TOOL pour faire la maj du compteur gps et ensuite il devrait se connecter au gps et se mettre a l'heure (c'est possible qu'il y ai une heure de décalage car le décalage horaire n'est pas automatique dessus)

I have a problem with mine also. I sent an email to Bryton support about 3 weeks ago and have had no response.
Corrects the bug of the new app for IOS, as it is a shit, closes all the time, instead of sending the site and send the file.
The most frustrated thing about Rider 420 is the Time. It doesn't just simply showing the exact time, it keep changing according to altitude. This is so annoying. I have to wait for the time to calibrate to exact moment of time before i press the start record button.
Hi there. Please update the firmware of your Rider 420. The time should be accurate unless it's out of battery. If the time goes wrong, please wait for the GPS signals to adjust the time.
@@BrytonActive I just tried at ground level to calibrate my altitude. The time is slower 1 hour from exact time even after the GPS signal already online, unless I set the ‘Dlight Save’ to +1.00.
@@BrytonActive There’s another issue I had last week. I rode with my friends (They are using Wahoo). We rode together but my Bryton less 2km mileage compared to their Wahoo. 2km gap differences is very big.

I have bought the Rider 420 H. It was big mistake to buy the 420. After 1,5 week struggling to make use of the 420 H I have drawn the following conclusion: never, never buy this device. This is made by persons who never used a gps for a bicycle. Made by nerds. I am a very technical person but this device is not logical at all. I recommend not to buy it.
Actually my experience is totally different. I have used 330 and it's going well even after 1 year. I rose it through pouring rain , Indian humidity heat etc.
You can say that this is fully featured computer. And will do 90% of the advance stuff but very bare bones basic gps support.
If you want gps Maps spend 3-4 times more and go expensive.
