    I bought a C9-A1 based upon CZcams reviews with yours carrying the most weight. Glad to hear most of the changes are cosmetic: a Talon Grip grip over the smooth-ish grip made mine very nice. Except, yes, the trigger. Lack of much reset seemed like it might be a potential problem but, in use, my finger automatically goes out to the average reset distance and I’ve never had a problem.
    I’d like to give a big thumbs up to the sights. I have both an astigmatism and my eyes are 3° off on the vertical but they locked onto the hex sights beautifully and very noticeably. I had my cousin shoot it and he really liked them, too. I’d hope people don’t discount the gun due to the sights and give them a try before Pooh-pooping them. I kind of wish Steyr had used paddle mag releases as I really like them on my VP9 but I understand why they didn’t.
    Can’t wait for the range review!

    It's amazing how many pistol brands and models are obscure in the US only because of marketing. You tried the BB6. The origins of this Steyr are with the same designer. There are excellent firearms out there that are just not marketed much in the US, yet are occasionally available.

    • @JD-tn5lz
      @JD-tn5lz Před rokem

      They're readily available if you know where to look.
      I imagine Steyr has as much production as they have capacity.
      Focusing on a smaller market (LEO and Europe) is probably simpler than taking a deep dive into a market where a chance for higher profit loses in the balance of a defined investment in facilities and payroll.
      Remember that even if you don't like US labor law, it's more challenging to be an employer in Austria. Much.

    • @FernandoChaves
      @FernandoChaves Před rokem

      @@JD-tn5lz Yes, they are readily available, but relatively obscure to most mainstream buyers here in the US I think, mostly because they are nor heavily marketed here. When I said occasionally available I meant they are not steadily imported. They seem to come in batches or waves. Generally speaking if you want one, you can get one.

    I was hell bent on buying the 3.8" C9-A2 MF or the 4" M9-A2 MF but the extreme lack of any accessories (like literally any kind) or even a holster was a huge turnoff, considering I had planned on carrying this! Plus, the MSRP and the actual price that I came across, was literally a $50 difference......

    Thank you for answering our Steyr pleas! I have a quibble and a question: First, that slide removal lever should only be lowered to about a forty-five degree angle---there is a line under it on the fame that shows that. Lowering it to ninety degrees like you did is only for removing the trigger chassis, or accidentally dropping it out. Second, why is there SO much CZcams anxiety over "trigger reset?" If you are actually shooting the thing you would never hear it, even if you had earphones on; and you surely would not "feel" it while the pistol is recoiling. It is the MOST amateur of CZcams "experts" who are the most concerned with "reset" and you are NOT THEM. Any revolver shooters don't give a fart about "reset" because their fingers are trained already. Myself, I prefer the original M9---it was perfect for those who don't care about a mounting rail! PERFECT!...........................elsullo

    • @GBGuns
      @GBGuns  Před 3 lety +2

      Thank you. I think it's because trigger reset is a part of training for so many people. Learning to shoot fast, shoot tighter groups, or just the simple audible or tactile confirmation that the gun is ready again. This trigger did trip us up a couple of times in our Shooting Impressions video.

    Well, I might have made a mistake, lol. My local store has had an M9-A2 MF (Or is it an L9-A2?) in their case for the longest time. Being left handed, I kinda ignored it because the idea of a duty size pistol that isn't ambi seemed silly to me. Well, I decided to ask to handle it the other day, and now I absolutely HAVE to get it. Never in my life have a held a pistol and felt like it was molded to my exact hand, not even HK's VP9 or P30 lines were able to do that. I don't know what kind of sorcery Steyr is practicing, but they should probably share their knowledge of ergos with Glock, lmao.

During the WFD portion it will of course look erratic as every three rounds is a different load with different pressures and case mass.

    Before Arex Delta Glock clone, before the Mossberg MC1 copy of the G43, before the Taurus' Glock the PX4, when S&W
    was sued for their near copy of the Glock we had the Steyr M9. This Steyr pistol never really caught on in the USA.
    _IMO the M9 is just another good Glock copy._
    Personally, I think why not get a Glock instead of another gun maker's Glock clone.

      There are quite a few differences between this Steyr and a Glock, but I guess if all you're looking at is color and materials then yeah...They're all "Glock"...

      @@GBGuns I believe a Glock engineer of some sort was hired by Steyr to help develop their polymer wonder 9 way back when. And some how Steyr's polymer, striker-fired, safe-action pistol 🔫 was very similar to a Glock (by having these three features tells you something). But yes, there are differences... why would you want a lawsuit like S&W on your hands ✋.
      THE TRUTH The Steyr seems like a Glock prototype and will always be second 🎻fiddle to the more developed Glock.

      Lol, how do you figure it's second fiddle?

      @@GBGuns Acceptance and by users (military, police, and civilan). The Steyr and all other Glock close copies are 2nd to the Glock. This is well known and so I an not sure why I am getting disbelief from you.
      Anyway, God bless 🙌 you and this is just us talking so no worries.

      Glock outsold the other by offering their guns at stupidly-low prices to agencies, that's why they were chosen. Take it from someone who 15 years on active duty: equipment isn't adopted because it's the best, it's adopted because it's the cheapest or has a factory in the right Senator's state.
