Day In The Life Of An AIRLINE PILOT | Florida To Puerto Rico

- Join me on a trip in the life as an airline pilot. I was called on reserve for this trip and this ended up being one of my favorite trips to date with this company. We go over to Puerto Rico to do some island flying and get to enjoy over 24 hours in a beautiful resort on the beach. This is a trip that many people would want to fly so it’s pretty rare for a reserve guy to end up with it. I share some workouts and health tips along the way as well. Enjoy ✈️

You know this dude is slaying every flight attendant
As well he should!
He's taken isn't he? Gracy?
I’m in college now I was pre med but I realized that isn’t what I want with my life. Going to flight school this summer before senior year your videos help me a lot to realize that is the life I want and I would enjoy. What did you do to gain your flight hours for commercial? I’m worried about the time between getting my degree and trying to get my commercial license
I was a flight instructor to build my time to 1500 hours to get my ATP
@@Joeymiuccio Can’t wait for the journey graduating UM and hoping to fly outa Miami
i’m a freshman in college and also pre med haha maybe this’ll end up being the same 👀
Just have to build time, you won't get a commercial until you get 250 hours then you get CFI to get the rest of the hours, at 500 some other options open up at 800 your chances increase, 1k hours more options then you hit 1500 airlines it is.
Before you switch paths I would consider if you can also get burn out after few years flying airplanes and then having to find something else like me!
Flying is big investment and things in flying world can change with oil and war!
PR is definitely one of my favourite places I have traveled to, absolutely stunning, great food, awesome culture, and even better people. The Caribe Hilton is awesome, though you def had a better view than when I was there!
love this longer video style of your vlogs joey! looking forward to seeing you more on youtube
Glad you like them!
Hey Joey love the videos! As an aspiring airline pilot, (currently working on my CFI) I am very invested into my body and health. I think a video on how you maintain your physique and diet while being an airline pilot would go a long way for us who love fitness!
I got you bro. I try to share that in these vids but I’ll do a more in depth vid on diet and training on the road soon 🙏🏽. Thanks for the advice
@@Joeymiuccioyou look very handsome too, including in your uniform ❤
@@Joeymiuccio Yes, I would greatly appreciate that. I want to get into bodybuilding but I'm afraid being a airline pilot will get in the way of that.
@@Joeymiuccio hey! what is the brand and the model of the shaving machine you're using?
You are really sharp and engaging. Being a pilot, I try to share with people how amazing the people I meet who are involved with aviation are. Keep up the force, and the force be with everyone!
Just found you today! Subscribed because of the consistency, hard work, dedication, transparency, education, and honesty! Still determining which career that I should pursue and its more than helpful to see what your days look like! Thank you for your content!
My Son is a FO for Delta flying the A330 out of SEA to Europe and Asia. He was a Captain for SkyWest then went to Delta. Not bad for 33. So proud of him!👨✈️✈️
How long did it take him?
How long did it take him? And how he did it?
Hey Joey, this is my first time watching a video of yours. I liked how you genuinely care and seem interested in the work that you do. It was nice to learn some of the ins and outs of a pilot.👍🏾👍🏾
C'mon bro that steak was definitely burnt on the outside lol. Just a few tips so you don't burn it next time... Use a neutral tasting high-heat cooking oil like avocado, canola or grape-seed to cook the steak in instead of butter as butter burns quickly. Add butter towards the end of cooking your steak and definitely rest the steak for at least 5 minutes before you cut into it so it doesn't bleed out all over your plate.
I love your positive energy!
Amazing. Though I'm not a pilot or in training I am a pretty fit guy, however your dedication and energy are a true inspiration. Needless to say a handsome man. Good luck with all of your travels and workouts. :)
I appreciate that!
Really inspirational! I’ve always wanted to be a pilot myself 👍
Thanks so much 🙏🏽
I'm a student pilot (working on instrument) and this is exactly how I imagine my life in the future working for the airlines lol, your vids are super inspiring & entertaining keep it up!
I recently found your channel because i'm considering flight training and possibly becoming a comercial pilot in the future. I've watched nick bare since he was in korea, so its pretty sweet thay i found your channel and he's a sponsor. Keep up the good work bro. Definitely earned my sub.
Hey thanks so much! I appreciate the sub 🙏🏽
I stumbled on your channel today and I'm glad i did,it's amazing to see what pilot's do,especially hott one's. 😂❤
Aloha from beautiful Hawaii.
This is the first time I watched one of your videos and found it very interesting!
Congratulations on living a healthy, fit, and disciplined lifestyle.
You are an encouragement to me and others to do the same.
I'm a med student and sometimes the wight of 'is this really what I want to do with' really hits🙂
U can do anything u want 😎🤙🏽
New fan here Joey, absolutely love the content. You motivated me to fulfill my aviation dreams
Ayy I appreciate it🙏🏽 stoked ur liking the content
I love that you show the life style of being a pilot but I would love to see some more videos from the cockpit
you got amazing energy. Thank you for being so amazing.
if every pilot worked out like this, more people would feel saver, its been proven, heavy weight training, and cardio, makes your mind stronger to deal with Stress under pressure! you are an inspiration for all pilots. TYTYTY
Nice vid my man! Im a pilot myself from and in Puerto Rico flying Cargo on the Shorts 360! Very motivational and inspiring! You should stay a bit longer next time here! 💪🏻
Hi Joey you are inspiring cool guy thanks for this amazing day opportunity in this video 🙌💪💯
Thanks so much
Oh so cool! I’m in Merritt island, getting ready to start my training with 2 fly. Your videos are very encouraging man.
That’s awesome. Enjoy it ✈️
Hey Joey, super inspirational and the production was great in this video! I'm sure getting a Puerto Rico trip off reserve was sick. I hope to see myself in a similar place as you someday soon! Also, since you mentioned you were at Endeavor before your current airline, maybe make a video about regional flying and how you liked it/pros and cons?
I live and learned to fly at TIST, and have stayed at that hotel in PR. Great gym there!
Hi from Puerto Rico🇵🇷 Future pilot here!! Starting in my private currently!!
What a great looking man and a really cool pilot!!
Thanks so much 🙏🏽
Gosh, mate, you're always on the move. Keep those vids coming. ✈
Thanks, will do!
Wow Joey, what a fun trip! My man, you're livin the life for real!! Thanks for posting brother man, you're awesome! Have you had any issues with caffeine withdraw?
Thanks man I appreciate it. And nope no issues. 3 days out from 1 month of no caffeine
Hi Joey. I saw another cool following person here, Swen10, that is going to make F/A in January. He has a nice question about F/As and Pilots partying together! And I wanted to respond. Me, being a former Purser F/A, I use to see many crews will have dinner together on long layover initially. Many times Captains would offer first round drinks but that was it. Furthermore, and again on the long layover international trips, dinner I got use to being apart. And it takes time to get to know all if crew members in general. After you graduation from your class in January and flying on "reserve" schedule, you will see and make friends and you will feel if you want to go out with coworkers. It takes time. And you travel a lot and sometimes you are alone so, trust your heart! How knows you may go on to become a Pilot. I hope your cool follower here, Swen 10, graduates and travels. It is a cool career to be apart of.😊
You should look at the DJI Pocket 2, I think you'll find it far better than your current camera where we can see your arm holding it out. This doesn't happen with the pocket. All the best.
O BOM de olhar esse CARA é a simplicidade de ser ele mesmo..parece uma pessoa de casa....simples...nas AÇÕES...os pais o criaram muito bem....
Love your vids and big inspiration
Man i enjoy these videos so much appreciate you bro 🔥💪🏻
Glad you like them!
What up Joey, I’m currently working towards my private. Love the videos man 🤙
Awesome! Thank you!
Hey Captain Joey, great motivation.Enjoy life to the fullest.love lots from Phils.
Thank you! Will do!
These keep getting better
I was getting downloads on what life I wanna live, and later today, your video shows up after I was thinking about it today. Never saw ya videos until now, so that confirmation from my higher spirits. It's funny how my dad and grandfather were pilots one military the other civilian. Do you have an ig I'm already following here. Wish me luck!!!!
Excellent video! A life without routine! ❤️
You are such a natural on camera! You'll make a great captain!
This is what I want man love it !
U can do it 🤙🏽
How do you stay so energetic after work. I'm like brain dead after work. Must be the luxurious A320.
Would you do back in the day to now? Possibly share your upbringing, the culture of your family (if that’s okay to ask about), were your parents into fitness and a healthy lifestyle? How you came to the decision to be a pilot, did you go to college, anything you’d do differently to advise anyone wanting to get into the profession? Thank You… God Bless 🤍🕊️
Just saw your video being suggested on my timeline.....I've immediately subscribed
Thank you for your service Boss💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Any time
Fly safe. Thanks for sharing! Have an amazing day!
Thanks for watching. You too 🤙🏽
New subscriber here and absolutely love your videos man! Love these day in the life that show more than just flying. I'm interested in flying and traveling and stumbled upon the channel and love your video style of the day in the life vlogs. Keep it up, I'm sure you'll be at 300-500k subs in no time!
Please continue to show the trip, your work outs everything within the day
Great video bro. Love From Maldives 🇲🇻
🤙 nice one - editing skills on point
Thank you for sharing your trip here. Looking good!!😊
You made smile!😊 From years ago, being on "reserve" was sometimes interesting. I did get a couple of like 3 hour calls to come into my former base but not 2 hours! Yeah, the 4 hours was standard on reserve. And yes, see, my closest beach walk was your Florida but on the east side in North Beach Miami or Ft. Lauderdale!!😊😊 I never did a trip to San Juan, PR but I have very vacationed there. I have family and friends in Ponce, PR. The Miami Base had the Caribbean in general for flying.😊I do miss letting the sand hitting my toes!!😊😊
Your videos making me change career rn tbh
Great video and good tips on what to cook and eat! Sweet layover in Puerto Rico too!❤
Another great video Joey! I suggest cooking the steak in olive oil first then finishing it with butter during the last minute or so!
I have two friends who husbands are pilots so I love watching pilot vlogs now. They got on with Southwest this year. Also love the fitness component because I’m with you on the carbs aren’t bad and caloric deficit for cutting and surplus for bulking :p
Hey joey, I’m a senior in high school considering flight school. I’d really enjoy if you made a video about Your pathway to becoming an airline pilot and where you are today in like a timeline form.
What a great location and hotel. Wow! Beautiful view!
wb the trip you came to oregon haha, saw me fuel your plane lol
Can confirm that Mazzaro’s is awesome.
All good things are delayed gratification. I like that!
The goat 🗣️
thanks for the videos..keep em coming
The best plane ride I had was when my brother and I flew the concord back in 2001. British Airline came to New York and we flew to Europe and I believe it took us only three hours.. I think back then the concord was not allowed in US air space because of the pollution and the noise it made but it was fast. While we were over the ocean the concord broke the sound barrior.
i stay at that hotel whenever I'm in Puerto Rico, super nice place. Great video.
Great video. I love seeing your life and travels. Makes me want to go somewhere fun. Handsome and smart guy also!!
Glad to see a fellow F9er!
Thanks for the upload !!

Love this style video brother! Great work. How much time does it take for you to edit something like this? Hope to meet sometime
Hey thanks so much. I recently started outsourcing my editing for CZcams vids

Que bello piloto
I like your video of how you explain everything you do at work
Great work , Keep up the good energy commander ❤️
Great vlog update.
Busy CFI here. Were you this fit as a CFI as well? Curious to know how much you were able to exercise/eat right as a CFI compared to being an FO. Much love!!
Ayy yea CFi is an absolute grind but I did always find time for fitness 5-6 days a week
Also Keep crushing it. The schedule gets much easier after that step. Enjoy the process ✈️
Do a video about ur monthly roster
I appreciate you!

Sweet video and awesome trip. How long are pilots usually on reserve for?
This video was the greatest!
What tripod do you use ? I just discovered your vids and really enjoyed them while running in the treadmill. Keep up the good work!
Wow! I want to learn to make watches.
Huge fan of your content, I go to college in Tampa hope to meet you one day. What razor is that you are using and is it a good one?
Ayy hopefully we’ll run into each other. And I actually have it liked in my Amazon storefront. Link in description

can you make a more detailed video about pre-workout because I'm also trying not to drink caffeine
Niiice! I can almost feel those ice water plunges. Do you always sit in the back row of the plane when you’re deadheading?
Endeavor Air here woo hoo!
Great video. Puerto Rico is beautiful.
New Irish subscriber here Joey, 21 years in Manchester U.K. and with extended family in Ireland near Dublin - have you ever got the chance to visit my native Ireland yet? You might have come across our national carrier Aer Lingus (Shamrock) based in Dublin and there is a mother and daughter at the airline, both of whom are pilots across the Atlantic into JFK and into SFO/LAX on the A350 🇮🇪☘️🇮🇪❤️
I havnt yet but would love to visit there eventually ✈️
I’m going to Florida in 6 days almost time for me to get on a plane ✈️ yay 😁
