When a team gets to shot at the opponents goal when the other teams players line up that is called a free kick in football and some players duck cause they are afraid of getting hit in the face :P

That zone is the FREE zone of the free kick. Block line is optional. If they are far away from the goal, they usually don't line up to block.
There are 2 kinds of Free kicks, the direct free kick (you can directly shoot to score).
The Indirect free kick. The ball must be passed before an attempt on goal

There wasn't any World-Class soccer player from United States yet. He is African.
Tim Howard is not World Class GK, he is not on the same level as Cassilias. Buffon, Cech, Courtouas, Neuer. Clint Dempey is not World Class attacking midfielder, he is not on the same level as Zidane, Figo, iniesta, Ronaldinho, Lampard or Gerrard. Both of them are very good players, not the World Class, though. Never heard of Conrad.

they are shooting not kicking. the player is shooting the ball to the goal. you only say kick when you are clearing the ball from your half.
