Well, what can you say... best rock 'n' roll band ever, peerless at the peak of their powers, relentlessly brilliant.
This is the classic 80s Nation's Saving Grace lineup. They never sounded better than this. It's the triple guitar mix, Brix played very clean leads and Rogers played the Muso guitar stuff underneath which left Scanlon free to do Scanlon things. That's before you even get to the imperious rhythm section..
Also that set list is ridiculous. Best of the live versions of Smile out there, the ONLY decent live version of Wings out there. Imagine seeing them for the first time at this show, must have been exciting as hell

My first ever festival. Was there for the Fall and New Order, remember it well. New Order were so late I endured about 2 hour of the prior Thomas Mapfumo set waiting! Also saw Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan rocking the tent.
Don't really recall The Fall set in particular, they were quite far away and I saw them again in smaller venues in the 80s which I remember enjoying more.
Fabulous! At the peak of their powers, IMHO. I'd like to hear 'Paintwork' properly, which I'm told they rarely performed live.

While not a fan, The Fall are still the onely one(s). This vid is voyeur. I expected to be blown away by BOMBAST; it disappoints but is hit hard straight after, and salvaged by COULDN@T GET AHEAD and WHAT YOU NEED. .. Just go in and see
