Fixing the biggest problem with Bachmann HO trains

I have a lot of Bachmann steam locomotives, and while they've been consistently very good quality for the past ten years or so, they do have one design flaw that has caused me (and many other modelers) much frustration. These tiny plugs date back to the Spectrum models of the late 1990s, and those tiny plugs have been the bane of many a modeler's existence. But, after all this time, I think I've finally found a solution.
