- In this video, I diagnose and repair a clunking / crunching noise over low speeds and bumps in this 2012 Hyundai Elantra Limited. I referenced this video from EricTheCarGuy: • How To Find Suspension... to troubleshoot various suspension components on the car.
Use at your own discretion, but the torque settings that I found online and used here were:
Sway bar end links: 72.3 - 86.8 ft. lb.
Lug nuts: 65.1 - 79.6 ft. lb.

i just replaced my front end links on my 2011 w/293k. The pass side was shot but the drivers side was still full of grease and stiff. i purchased Hyundai OEM links off of Rockauto and they were junk. One was as bad as the pass side that had failed. Neither of the new ones had any discernable grease in them. So i used one new one and one old one w/293k on it. i couldn't send them back as it is past the return date. KenAgain you posted this on my birthday :)
Happy belated birthday!!! I hope it was a good one! Whenever I watch EricTheCarGuy's second channel (ETCG1 I think it is) I always smile with his intro - wishing folks a happy Birthday if they're watching on their bday. Love the comment too and info - good to know. So far the end links I've used have been rock solid and made a night and day driving difference. The owner is VERY happy with it. I have the same situation with a lower control arm actually, hah, I kept it past its return date (or figured the shipping would be too high to make it worth returning... I forget which).
Cheers!
