one of the cool things I learned when I went to the Ranch 2 years ago was that. The day President Kennedy was killed, Kennedy, LBJ and their wives were flying to the ranch to eat dinner and spend a few days there. after the rally in Dallas.. Sadly that afternoon history changed forever, and they didn't make it there.. But That yellow phone in the kitchen at the LBJ ranch was the 1st phone to be contacted before the united states would be told Kennedy died, Secret Service called from the hospital in Dallas to the LBJ ranch, to put the ranch in lock down, and to also have Johnson's family bible flown to Dallas as fast as they could. im not sure if he got his family bible in time, before he was flown to d.c. and was sworn in as president on air force 1. but a little bit of cool history

One time we where at a swimming hole near Medina lake on a large ranch, the owners where friends so I had verbal permission to swim anytime. We where chased into a large oak tree by a giant Brahman bull over 2000 lbs and he was very upset for some reason lol. Highly terrifying. At dark after several hours he got bored and left.

I believe that "waterfall crossing" is what's called a "ford." There's a ford down in Cascade Park in Elyria, Ohio just like that & cars can cross to the other side of the park as long as the water isn't above a certain height. It's really cool.

The home owners association put up parking baracades soon afterwards LOL.

Not to be overly critical Adam (seriously, I really enjoy and appreciate what you do), but as a Texan, there are several things in this video that must be addressed. Oh lordy, PLEASE don't say PEE-khan, or Pee-caan when in Texas. Here, it's puh-KHan. And Luchenbach, Texas, (pronounced LU-kin-bach) seriously? Have you never heard the song by Waylon Jennings? One of his biggest hits. Ever. The pictures on the wall aren't just celebrities that have visited. That is the Outlaws and the Highwaymen. Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Jessi Coulter, Johnny Cash, and Kris Kristofferson. And sorry, the Hondo statue is NOT the same Hondo as the John Wayne character and movie of the same name that Al Bundy never got to watch. This Hondo was one of the investors that purchased Luckenbach and helped promote it to it's current status (As stated on the historical marker)

first Aussie ? love the stuff on the side off-the road -here the council (shires) would make you take it down but it's kinda interesting to see. also there are water roads like that in Australia when the North floods during our wet season -they look just like that but much more dangerous

Also be sure to visit the Pima Air and Space Museum in Tucson AZ. More former Air Force One planes (Kennedy\Nixon).

Thank you for the visit to LBJ ranch. Regardless of how history views his presidential term, it's still really cool to see the history.

Very timely video, Adam, considering that President Trump released a short video from inside the current Air Force One right about the time that you were taking yours. His plane today is a bit bigger. ;) Anyway, very interesting video!

There were many aircraft before the Wright brothers flew, but Wilbur and Orville were the first to document their flight.

I graduated from the same high school Ladybird Johnson went to! Not the same building because it burned down but the same high school, nonetheless.
