চারদফা সময়সীমা বাড়ানোর পর চলতি বছরের জুন মাসে আখাউড়া-আগরতলা ডুয়েলগেজ রেললাইন প্রকল্পের নির্মাণ কাজ শেষ হওয়ার কথা। মাত্র তিন মাসের মধ্যে অসমাপ্ত কাজ শেষ হওয়া নিয়ে স্থানীয় জনপ্রতিনিধিদের মাঝে সংশয় সৃষ্টি হয়েছে। তবে প্রকল্প সংশ্লিষ্টদের আশা, নির্ধারিত সময়ের মধ্যেই কাজটি শেষ হবে।
