Let me tell you about my week! We'll do some theoretical rambling about my bizarre DMV experience, among other things, and then we'll unbox my new "royal portrait"! It's the perfect way to end this hectic week! :)

Hmmm, maybe the DMV lady could sense Mary’s frustration and felt like being extra nice to the kid to boost his confidence. I had a similar experience when I was 16, my parents’ frustration was causing me great anxiety.

Sounds like some women working for the DMV hypothetically has a certain object lodged in a certain place, & theoretically is way to in to young boys!

She'll probably want to throw him a party when he gets his license! You could bring that Queen Mary portrait to a Staples or Office Max and get some cards made up to send out for Christmas. Better yet do a family portrait. I think that's a really cool photo of you. Thanks for the laughs!✌

I remember my dad making me read the manual the night before my permit test even though I didn’t think I needed to. He was right and I got 100%. Thanks, dad. Lol.

I’m 21 and I got my learners permit last year lol I never was interested in getting my permit at 15 and never thought about it til I was 20.
I've known plenty of people who didn't get their license until they were in their 20s. Everyone's different, and goes at their own pace with achieving their goals 💕 I'm happy for you🥰💕👏🏼
Here in Kentucky you have to be 16 to get a permit.
I went to the DMV when I was 19 to do my theory test (I grew up in London before and went to live in DC after to study, and in London, I felt no need to learn to drive). My mom has been begging me to go get my license, and I finally caved in. So I am there, all this paperwork (I am alone btw, and pretty confused) and apparently I was missing ONE thing (I forgot what it was but I simply didn't have it). Ok fine, but the lady working there was SO mean to me about it, calling me stupid, saying I am a spoilt brat for never getting my license, saying I think I am special. Oh my gosh, it was so bad. No one else was there so she had time to be a horrible person. I went outside crying and called my mom saying "I AM NEVER EVER GETTING MY LICENSE I NEVER WANT TO GO TO THE DMV AGAIN I DON'T CARE" and she was like"Dina, you will feel better about it later and go back". WELL MOM, I am 22 and still don't know how to drive so HA.

I had braces too and it was awful. A random guy at Walmart once told me I'd have a beautiful smile at the end of it, and it really kept me going! It'll all be worth it. And Tylenol will be his best friend.

I smiled when you were talking about your son's test. I did the exact same thing 10 years ago. I was just like him; oh, I do not need to study, etc. Then I failed two times just like your son. And finally when I spent two hours of actual preparation... guess what? I was the first one to finish the test without any mistakes. Miracles do happen. 🙂

The DMV lady was probably jealous... perhaps she wanted to create an ASMR channel, failed miserably, and recognized you as an ASMR success! I’m shocked you didn’t tell her off. It boils my blood just listening to how she *allegedly* talked to you. Girl, you strong! Haha
i had the exact same issue with my mouth being overcrowded and nowhere for my teeth to grow in, so when i got braces i thought i would have them for a long time - long story short i always wore my rubber bands that the orthodontist ended up giving me and i got mine off in two years! if he does that then he should get them off quicker and save you money:)

this is so nice and perfect timing. :D I couldn't fall asleep cause I had a terrible bank employee encounter and one would think they would be nice to a potential customer, but noooo, this woman was just a b word. She talked to me as if I was completely stupid and why was I bothering her cause obviously taking care of customers is not her job. And omg the look! The look! She had the saaaaaame look like the car licence woman! :D Every time I asked something honestly as if I was completely stupid. that look! now it's funny cause it is just like 'sharing a misery' or 'shared misery' or how to say it in english. :D but omg, I just felt terrible and stressed. So I'm so thankful for this video :D
I failed my test twice, and unfortunately in my state you have to wait a couple weeks before you can take it again and you must pass the signs before the multiple choice. Also, after failing 3 times you have to take a class. Props to your son!

I’m 31 and just got braces two months ago, for the second time 😆 It was painful and weird at first, but in a few weeks it got a lot better. I hope your son feels better soon!

Ow Yea. My Step daughter got her learners permit at 15 and learned to drive a stick on a Chevy cobalt. Took her a month to get the hang of it. She's 19 now and I feel old now. They grow up so fast.

Haha! 😂 I got my drivers permit in Arkansas last week and it was freezing raining (we had to wait outside because of COVID) and my dad was of course threatening me to pass and I got an 80%. You had to get an 80% to pass 😳😳😳

Oh no hope your son’s braces start feeling better soon! 🙁 My youngest son is 8 yrs. and he’s getting braces next week! 😬 Thanks for sharing his experience. This is new for us. My husband & I never had braces and my oldest son is 11 yrs. he doesn’t have braces either. We are throwing him a party so he can eat his favorite foods he won’t be able to eat with braces 😩 Corn on the cob is on his list too! LOL! Yup that lady at DMV was definitely hitting on your son. 😳

The day I got my permit, my dad threw me the keys and I drove at night in a heavy traffic construction area with high winds. 😂😅 Next day, I was going 70 mph on the highway!
Mary I failed my permit test twice too! Third times a charm😂 I passed my drivers test first try though😄

Everyone usually fails the test more than once, some people get it first try but I did not 😂 theoretically someone needs an attitude check!!

You can use the app Aceable where you don’t have to take a test at the DMV. It’s what I did as you take the test on it. It’s parent taught but not super strict.
Speaking of teenagers! LOL! My daughter failed PE (because she never dressed out) her sophomore year then repeated it her junior year. So she took Drivers Ed TWICE! I would repeatedly ask her if she had picked up her paperwork to take to the DMV. It was always "I forgot." So I quit asking and made her wait until she was 18. I took her yesterday to her appointment at the DMV and she passed.

My dad would take me out driving early sunday mornings..like 7 am. To practice...and I had to learn stick as well. Started out at a larger technical college campus to start getting used to shifting gears and having a car in one lane. There were times we would put a note student driver on the back passenger window if it was later in the day. Other drivers would veer way around the car once the saw that sign. We have driving schools here and some drivers arent bad..but once in a while..theres a kid behind the wheel that really shouldnt be there..

When I took my driving class a couple of years ago our teacher would teach us a chapter then do that part of the exam so none of us had a full written test or online test 😂 then when it was time to do the driving test every time it was schedule it would snow ( which happens like once every couple of years) so when I finally got to take it the cop who was in my car she had a cold and gave me 100 and didn’t notice I never put my right mirror after the parallel 😂
