  • The oldest man and oldest case on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted list is a man who officials say killed his family in Maryland and then disappeared into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in 1976. Investigators are still trying to bring him to justice. bit.ly/2AVKHRH

God this sounds so similar to the monster and murderer John List and his poor family. Family annihilators are the worst because they try to justify their actions, at least to other people if not truly themselves believing that they are some how helping them out, they’re in a better place now, mercy killing kind of thing. Sincerely disturbing.

What's interesting is how little effort this monster made to cover his tracks, which tells me that he: A. harbored towering hatred and anger towards his family and wanted everyone to know what he did, and B. had the crime and his escape well planned in advance. We'll likely never know, but I do not doubt that he had not just one new identity established, complete with documentation, but two or three. This guy was no idiot, but a highly intelligent and educated U.S. Foreign Service officer with intelligence experience, and who spoke multiple languages. He had the sort of looks- a dark haired, dark eyed white man- that would allow him to pass as a native in almost any European country where he was fluent in the language. The only fly in his ointment would be his fingerprints, for as former military and current State Dept, his prints would be on file, which means he couldn't dare take employment that would require documentation or where there was a chance of running into people he knew. I'm sure that encounter with a former colleague in a men's room in Italy was a genuine sighting and probably triggered his flight from the area. Our only comfort is that he spent the rest of his life working menial jobs and forever looking over his shoulder.

Considering his line of work, I don't 100% trust the story they've given the public. There could be a few different scenarios, not just the family annihilator accusation that everyone seems to accept without question.

If he didn't kill himself after he left the station wagon, he's probably dead by 2023. People smoked like chimneys back then.

Yes and he was born in 1936 so he is likely dead. There was a credible sighting of him in Europe I believe so he may have died has a John Doe there or someone who created an entirely new identity.

Another thing; what if William Bradford Bishop never had sex with his wife, I heard what Zach Bishop's friend just said to the news reporter. It's this, "he took my friend away from me."

Not possible 😢! I know father's kills others, if there is the case, to defend his own wife & offspring; but I never believed a man is cruel enough to kill his child & the mother of his offspring! 😢Better he should took his life, but not thy others! May be someone else killed the whole family???😢
