- Special thanks to Philip Ingram for sharing this with the world. This is a holy grail of sorts as no live footage audio or video of the original Switch or Bobby had been available to this point. RIH Tommy and Bobby Debarge
Super thanks for this very rare; in fact, the "ONLY" living documention of Bobby singing that I've EVER come across in over 40 years of searching. Even Switch's performance on Don Kirshner Concert (which was normally always live...appears lip synced).
How can this be?...a national recognized and acknowledged top selling multi-Gold selling artist who has not one stitch of live singing?
Is this some sort of contrived occurrence. Almost impossible to be.
Thanks a million for this only recording (though it is very very short) of this great talent actually singing demonstrating his incredible vocal capacity "live".

@@Sparky19124 he sang and wrote a song while with Switch. It's called, I FINALLY FOUND SOMEONE. Google it and it will come up. In his book he says they wouldn't let him sing ( don't know who they is ). But after a while he got to do that song

Me too man me too. I asked a few people that were around Bobby and Tommy about live footage particularly Bernd Lichters, a nice guy btw. No live videos are known of as of yet but hopefully they'll come out.

Ya know, they talked about Jesus Christ and he was a superstar.. They've no audacity to talk. They have no iconic falsetto that continues to mesmerize the world. Ha ha... in yo face 😅😅 So no audacity to talk at all. But I've heard Phillip go all out and defend Bobby too. MIXED EMOTIONS for real

First time I ever heard Tommy sing Falsetto or heard his voice period and he sounds amazing. He should have been a voice on some of their songs and not just singing in the background, playing the bass.
My first time hearing him too. I absolutely agree with you. I never knew he sounded that good.
If I didn't know any better, Tommy sounds a lot like Bobby. If I was to close my eyes and listen to Tommy sing, I would swear it was Bobby.
He wrote and sang lead vocals on "I Finally Found Someone New".. Bobby sings the higher notes of the song but Tommy is lead and they harmonize together.. One of my favorite songs..

i really beleive that they kept tommy in the background due t0 his skin color. bobby skin was lighter and would be more appealing i guess smh

Yup, I put that in the description. I posted it here because I know a lot of DeBarge/Switch fans would see it here too.
These men suffered greatly. Shame in their mother. She is just as guilty for all their suffering as their daddy was . She used Tommy's money fir a karge settlement to supply her drug addicted 2nd Hispanic husband. It seems to have made her feel special to have a man lighter than herself.
Rest in peace Tommy and Bobby. Deepest sympathy and sadness for what you and all your siblings ( and if anyone else ) suffered😢😢 at the abusive hands of your Dad, Robert Sr.
And as far as it goes for Momma DeBarge, she was a hero and at the same time she was an enabler in their terrorized childhood .
She is up in age, very up in age and not well. Therefore she doesn't need the scrutiny. God will handle it now . We all meet our maker and he decides. So attacking her at this point and making judgement on/of her is a lack of knowledge or understanding . She's up in age so no sense in verbal attacks or verbal abuse ( towards her )
