      It's not just Texas. Take a trip to the northeast states and you'll find a ton here. NY, NJ, PA, DE, VA, MD etc
      They also buy used metal license plates off eBay and either just keep swapping out new plates one a week I'm a cycle or they actually register it and have a relative help say they live in a state without emissions. This way they can drive that older vehicle that emits tons of burning oil or leaking whatever on the ground.
      This BS is happening because they look online after seeing someone do it, talk to a neighbor and just replicate it. Thanks to the YT algorithm they find other SCAMS and do those too.
      ...all in the same of being against the "man" and not following his rules etc because they cannot afford it
      However it's always odd they can afford fancy rims, extra modifications or whatever but cannot register a friggin plate and insure themselves

      Paper tags all over the place, NO FRONT PLATES (which, with cameras in vehicles now identifying oncoming hit-and-runners is a MUST), expensive insurance and only half the drivers insured.
      I've had four hit and run accidents on my vehicle in 5 years - 3 times when my vehicle was parked and unoccupied. Every last one of them ran. I was in my car when the fourth person hit me and I called 911 while chasing them. 911 told me to stop and would not lift a finger. I told them to send ambulances, then, because the only way I was going to stop was after I stopped them.
      Cops caught up to us within minutes. They arrested her (uninsured, suspended, warrants, DUI, unregistered, _sov cit_ moron), I got a speeding ticket.

    In California we went from only needing the DMV printout taped to the front window, and you rarely saw cars without plates, to seemingly 1 out of every 5 or 6 cars having a paper plate and I can not believe that we have had that many auto sales to represent that. Honestly the ONLY reason I believe the state moved to paper plates is to get extra toll revenue on bridges and what not. Why cars do not start out with real plates is beyond me, how much does a plate cost? ultimately maybe $15 to stamp and paint one? and I feel like that's a high estimate, yet auto dealers are against this tiny cost? But they'll sure as hell make sure to charge you "licensing fees" when you buy a new car.

    • @moregreaterladashcam8829
      @moregreaterladashcam8829 Před rokem +3

      One thing I have also noticed as a Californian is that fake paper plates are also making our way into our streets. I have seen the paper plates that they issue at the dealer and the ones that were purchased at auction, but there are some cars that have extensive damage that I have seen with fake paper plates that has a permanent license plate number format (1SAM123) or is not the correct license plate format, which is supposed to be AA00A00 but could be some random 7 digits. But even if the plates aren't fake, some people never even bother switching out the paper plates and have also gone as far as to even slapping on their registration stickers on the paper plates (yes, you read that right), Unlike Texas, California embosses their license plates which I'm assuming is harder to produce and a bit more expensive compared to Texas, which are flat, printed straight onto the aluminum roll and probably cheaper to produce. They're probably flimsier so it may bend or fade a lot faster compared to its embossed counterpart, which is why California still embosses their plates.

These paper tags allow these deadbeats to have mobility and keep doing what they are doing and not worry about paying their liens. By abolishing these paper tags, the deadbeats will now have to pay up for their liens just so they are able to get on with their daily lives. I am surprised that it took so long. It doesn't solve the problem of criminals needing to cover their identity so they can commit crimes. Paper plates actually held more people accountable because you have a plate number to report, even if it's a fake one. If a crime occurs, you can still call 911 with the fake plate number, and the cops can scan the area's license plate readers for the car. In the mean time, cars are driving around with no plates. Criminals will just go back to running no plates, and cops will have to pull them over and get shot and killed just like this officer did. It literally solves nothing. Even if you can provide metal plates at the time of purchase, It still won't solve the fact that in 2 minutes, criminals can steal any license plate they want and put it on their cars.
