    I've been advocating the security screens for years....additionally a great business opportunity for local entrepreneurs to get in an industry where they could produce a product of quality at a price markedly less expensive than imports.

    • @GhanabaKwaku
      @GhanabaKwaku  Před 5 měsíci +1

      You are right about the potential for local business. Where there is “chaos”, there is tremendous business opportunities. Unfortunately, the general market might not be able to afford these screens so they go for what is “more affordable”. To add to that, there is always this reluctance to learning new technologies and techniques from artisans.

    There’s a company that has the mesh in Ghana they call it King Kong mesh. I’m not sure how strong theirs is but it’s definitely in Ghana and it’s even incorporated into the windows and they will install it as well. The name of the company is Inter Africa Glass, a lot of African Americans building in Ghana use their windows instead of the burglar bars.

I believe what they office is two sheets of glass laminated to each other but even then, you are still constrained by the window profiles available on the market.

    My thing is with both options, in the case of using an 'openable' screen (in case of fire), it boils down to each user keeping it locked at all times. I can imagine an evil staff leaving their room screen unlocked to allow entry

    • @GhanabaKwaku
      @GhanabaKwaku  Před 5 měsíci +2

      That is a very good point. It however is the same for all forms of security- if you have safe but don’t lock it, you are essentially not protected. Same way you can have a world class alarm on a house but if the alarm isn’t armed, security is null and void.

      Unfortunately people are talking to you from what they are exposed to so you listen to them but you educate yourself further. They have good intentions (usually) and the stories they hear are what they want you to not experience. To be honest us in the diaspora building back home are any thief’s first thought - “we are rich” - so you embrace these suggestions from a good place but you forge ahead knowing they are options.

      Good morning! For now, I’m only looking at helping myself and others like me get the complete windows/doors manufactured and shipped to Ghana (and elsewhere if shipping from China allows it). The frames they fit into aren’t the KS-50 kind so bringing the mesh alone doesn’t seem reasonable.

What of using the mesh for the important windows and the windows like bathrooms, garage windows, and pantry with the burglar proof to reduce cost? I also have about 31 windows nd 11000usd i think is on the higher side. Your be glad to knw your opinion

    • @GhanabaKwaku
      @GhanabaKwaku  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Thanks for following along; I appreciate it. Regarding customization; sure, that is based on preference. If burglar bars are not something you don’t like (I almost said hate😄), then do burglar bars all through. There are some nice designs you can come up with.
      $11k is high, yes but I was quoted around $12k in Ghana for my project using KS-50 profile with double glass- they call it double glazed in Ghana but it really isn’t double glazed. Rather, it is two sheets of glass laminated together. True double glazed windows involve two sheets of glass spaced out and filled with Argon gas in the void. The profile I am getting quotes for is newer and better than KS-50 so that is what makes the price higher. Also note that 31 windows on your house and 31 windows on someone else’s house might differ - the bigger the opening, the more expensive the project.

    • @Kgee7618
      @Kgee7618 Před 5 měsíci +1

      @GhanabaKwaku .. thanks for the feedback. I also dnt buy the idea of buglar proof since it looks soo cagey.. I think I would go for the mesh for bigger windows and buglar proof for small windows like bathrooms,garage, and the pantry
