One thing I really like about the confrontation scene between Edward and Jacob is that Edward doesn't just say "if you ever touch her again", it's "if you ever touch her AGAINST HER WILL again", and then "wait for her to say the words". He isn't angry due to possessiveness, but because Bella's wishes weren't respected. It extends into the conversation between the two in the tent. If in the end Bella decided to date Jacob, I truly believe Edward would have accepted it with grace. He would never say things like she'd be better off d**d like Jacob did because he actually cares about her happiness, unlike Jacob who just wants her to be his. He is just so much more emotionally mature than Jacob, and I was really appreciative of his growth from the start of this movie to the end.
Edward has so much more emotional intelligence because he’s like 100 years old and Jacob is basically a baby😭😭 (coming from a twilight lover who’s also team Edward)

I love so much how they gave us Rosalie's backstory in this movie, cause i went from not really liking her to her immediately becoming one of my favs it explains so much. Her backstory is just so horrifying and heartbreaking. Her getting her revenge though what a QUEEN oh my god, in a wedding dress and everything

The reception you have to this franchise and how they respond to it, is honestly a really good indicator of one's emotional maturity in my opinion.
Everyone was so invested in this series at release and yet its aged so poorly. It's campy and entertaining, but the implications of why Bella is such a focus is still baffling. Like wow she has a particularly strong scent for vampires. But any reason you come up with is shallow, toxic or straight up aggravating because it could have been written better.
It's sort of like the difference of siding with Ariel or King Triton in the Little Mermaid where she claims she isnt a child but is only 16.
Which applies to this series too. Yes, they should respect Bella's choices and desires. But also, its such a predatory series because the other characters THAT AREN'T HER PARENTS are deciding what's best for her when she's still under 18 and by extension our brains don't fully develop until around 25-26. Absolutely all of the Cullens are literal elders and the actual adults in her life just don't put the hammer down hard enough. Charlie does his best though, he REALLY doesn't deserve what she puts him through it's actually really upsetting.
What I really don't like about this series is how no one listens to each other and does what they want and just assume everything. The lack of agency Bella actually has physically in the world, but also how detrimentally emotionally dependent she is, is a little ridiculous. Feeding into the story gives us a fantasy of forever love: but every instance of reasoning why the love exists comes from primal reasoning on both sides and NOT from healthy foundations of respect and support.
For the vampires they find their "mates" and for werewolves they imprint against the other person's will. I don't buy into the fact that its supposed to be a mutual imprinting especially when it comes to Renesme (however you spell it) because she was a literal baby. Don't care if she's self-aware from within the womb. It's creepy. It's gross. The fact Bella folded so quickly about that is also infuriating.
I think that's what really pisses in my cereal where the underlying tone is that we're all just primal animals survival of the fittest vibes. Yes we're animals, but we also have agency of controlling our narratives to some degree and also where literal adults should be saying no to minors in all instances. We have freedom of thought and the capability to learn and to express love.
Tldr; mostly everyone (not all) sucks in this scenario because they're enabling this bs behavior.
Victoria’s special ability is self preservation. Her body instantly know the safest route/move etc… that is why she’s so incredibly hard to catch and why both the wolves and the vampires couldn’t catch her when they were chasing her.

True. Though he might be demi, the book goes on about how little interest he had in others until Bella. And he could read the thoughts of everyone, human girls and vampire girls alike. It could easily put him off a person. Bella is the first ever where he couldn't hear anything, silence. As for why he always refuses to be with Bella when he clearly wants to be with her, there isn't a good explanation for that one.

He constantly gaslights & manipulates her because he thinks he's the only one who knows what's best for her. Jake does too so it looks worse because he's the one who didn't get picked, but it's still a choice between worse and worst. I'm still team Jacob because he's just more fun & Edward will literally never get over himself, but I don't blame her for going with Edward since he comes with more perks.

This is my second favorite one. In fact, I believe the movies' quality only increased, which is rare for franchises. I think the strongest point of this universe is actually everything BUT Bella x Edward x Jacob. There's so much interesting lore, from the backstories of the Cullens and the wolves to the history of the Volturi... idk, it feels like a very interesting universe. That one dude who's alwaya looking miserable by Aro's side... once I heard of his backstory I was gagged at how interesting it was. I'm glad adult me gave Twilight a chance and is able to appreciate all of the camp and fun it can provide 😂 the less it takes itself too seriously, the more I enjoy it.

Yes, there is a little thing here and there, but putting that on the side, he actually manage to understand respect her wills, and almost every aggressive reaction he had was completely understandable (like when Jacob harassed Bella, who wouldn't be mad at that? Besides, he explicitly said that the problem was not that Jacob kissed Bella, but that he kissed her AGAINST HER WILL)
