To make your polymer clay flexible, bake Premo clay for 1 hour at 275°. Bake in the oven on a ceramic tile for even heat. Always cover your project with a disposable aluminum container to prevent burning. You can paint your project, if you do, bake for another half hour. Once you seal your project do not bake. You can however use uv resin on your project and heat under a uv light or put outside in the sunlight to seal uv resin. Also if you want to put gems in your project, push them into your clay. If they are glass gems you can bake them, if they are plastic take them out of the pocket you pushed them into before baking. Once it is baked (1/2 hour after original 1 hour baking) pop the gem out and use E6000 to secure.

If you take a clay blade once you get the clay in the mould it will make a nice flat even back to your bracelets. These would look great if you painted them with acrylic paint and then wiped it down before it dries to antique them.

You should try silver clay in the molds. Silver clay is a clay that contains micro size silver and when you put it in a kiln or use a torch to heat it the clay burns off and silver in it fuses together and becomes solid to form the design of your molded clay.

Great idea, just a couple of things as someone who works with polymer clay.... If baked properly, it should not break. Second, PC doesn't release toxins. It's safe, just stinks. Sculpey is quite clear about this. You can use your home oven it's fine. See Blue Bottle Tree, Ginger Davis Allman for more info :) Can't have misinformation about PC out there :)

I have arthritis in my fingers and hands, I find conditioning the clay by hand keeps them supple and mostly pain free. As an after thought wish I could buy a pasta machine for $20, here in Australia they are usually over $100 or more!

You will damage your rollers on the pasta machine putting the clay through so thick at the start and strip your gears. Removing the fenders will help to cleaning your machine. Knead your clay to warm it up and rolo it to reduce the thickness closest to the thickest setting on your pasta machine.
You can use cornflour on your moulds to stop your clay sticking if removing while raw. Wet your baked clay when sanding and polishing, if not wear a mask when sanding dry.

Good way to break a pasta machine is by shoving a block of clay through like you start out doing when you are conditioning the clay.

You will ruin your blades in your pasta machine shoving clay that thick through it even if it is soft. You need to roll it down to a couple mm with a roller first!

That dremeling you are doing is making toxic dust which you should not breath. Please take proper precautions.

Thanks sharing that information. We're still learning all the ins and outs of working with polymer clay.

What do you do if you need like a 8 or 8.5 - Can’t tell how long that mould is. Isn’t there special release for polymer clay?
I wish CZcams folks would sell something pertaining to their craft or crafts themselves, do drawings whatever to make money besides have these unrelated ads. Aggravating.

No special release for polymer clay and you can make these as long as you need by rolling a longer "snake" of clay and then moving the casting over as you make it (hard to describe). If you join the Creative Tribe on Facebook, there's a video in there on how to do this: facebook.com/groups/IODcreativetribe The mould cavity for the trimmings is right about 8 inches long.

Ok, firstly.. never ever store your polymer clay in a plastic baggie. Polymer clay isn't an air dry clay so no need to seal it inside a baggie but more importantly a plastic baggie will ruin your clay. There is a chemical reaction. Always store between the pages of an acrylic sheet protector.
I've been making polymer clay jewelry for years and the absolute best tutorial channel I've found on youtube that will take you through beginner to expert is @Turtlesoupbeads. Susan takes you through how to make the tools you'll need at home using stuff you have laying around to how to bake your clay.. through the differences in various polymer clay brands.. all the way into making complex canes & so many other methods for using polymer clay.
You absolutely don't need a pasta roller machine to do polymer clay! An acrylic cylinder works perfectly well. I was using polymer clay near daily before I finally invested in a pasta machine. Also, do not use your pasta roller for making pasta after you've used it for polymer clay.
Pledge hardwood floor wax is a fantastic sealer for polymer clay. It leaves a fairly matt finish. But yes, you absolutely need to seal your finished polymer clay project or it will get really dirty very quickly. Your body oils will stain it also.

@@IronOrchidDesigns You're so welcome. I love what you made with the clay. Genius! I have both your trim molds I've used for furniture & other crafts & never thought to use them this way. I made these & gave them as a Christmas gift. She was thrilled!
